Nice post, if a little wordy. You do get on a good roll. A couple of observations:
1. Unfortunately, deconstructionism has all but destroyed the dictionary. It is impossible to argue using a dictionary with someone who does not find the dictionary valid. This does not mean that we should abandon the dictionary, the clear meaning of words, but it does highlight our challenge. Is there a way to bridge the gap? http://ducts.org/06_06/html/reviews/goldblatt.html2. Speaking of white and black hats, ever notice the trend to glorify bad guys? When I was a kid, everyone wanted to be the good guy, the super hero. You had to make believe there were bad guys because no one wanted to be one. Today, it is almost the other way around. My brother-in-law and I were talking a while back about how when we were kids, we wanted to be Luke Skywalker (as did everyone). Now, everyone wants to be Darth Maul. We do have our work cut out for us.
