11 Things You Don't Learn in School

AHA!

We are up and running again!

Great piece here.

Surely the teachers don't teach the kids this stuff!

Real life? What is that?

Curious

What shall we do with the Leftinistra?

I Have This Piece Myself!

When my son or daughter (the younger ones, not the adult) starts in on life isn't fair, why do they have to do chores, and why do I get to sit on my fanny while they do all the work, I whip this little puppy out!

1) Life's not fair--the only fairness you'll find is with God. Take it up with Him.

2) They do chores so they know what it's like to (HORRORS) EARN their allowance. Don't ask me for money--earn it.

3) I get to sit on my fanny while you do all the work because I go to work every day and pay the bills. When you do that, you can sit on YOUR fanny and boss YOUR kids around!

They hate when I do that! And OH THE COMMENTS from parents screaming I'm too hard on my kids!

Well, my kids aren't in juvy, aren't terrorizing a neighborhood, vandalizing cars, destroying property or getting in trouble with other kids. THEIR kids ARE (including my sister's kids who never had to lift a finger in the house; who she pulled out of school when the teacher was "picking" on them and didn't "understand" them--they failed the home schooling miserably and had to go back 2 grades when she died and they had to return to school. She also had to "bribe" neighborhood kids to play with hers because the others got tired of being lied about all the time).

So, my kids don't like Bill Gates too much, but they're learning! Remind me to tell you of my son who, at age 8, when I asked him to clear the table, very succinctly said no, it was women's work. My son can now scrub a kitchen beyond health department standards, mop a floor, scrub a toilet, vacuum, cook a full meal (several of them), wash, dry, fold and iron clothes and sew his seams and buttons!
