Can We Just Get Along and Work Together?

Scottie

Good post, these people have ZERO interest in what we think,or wanting to "come together". As a small example, stop by Gunny G's blog, read some of the posts left by stephen, and Steve. Not sure if they are one in the same, but the tone is identical.

Thanks for stopping by. I've been away for the duration of the election season and it's good to see people stopping by after my absence.

Oh, dear, Scottie!

What have you been drinking??? You think there is any possibility of rationality striking the liberal left? The only way your request could be granted would be for a class of people who have been non compos mentis since their birth to be struck by a lightening bolt of logic, and the probability of that happening is, well, let's just say, not likely at all.

So, do you have any of what you've been drinking left over? I think I could use some....

The title comes from what the lefties are asking me. I have no delusions that what they propose is possible; unless of course we cede everything we believe in and join them in their collective madness. The point is they don't really want to work with us. They just want to avoid being treated as they've treated us for the last eight years. They cannot help but project their unhinged behavior onto us now that our roles are reversed.

We can work at the same time,

Scottie, they to change America into France II, we to RESIST, to fight them, to expose them; and in my case to get GetAmericaRight.org up and running, looking forward.

My essay in no way precludes conservatives continuing on with our agenda. I will always believe, support and advocate:

1. Smaller Government
2. Fiscal discipline and responsibility
3. The second ammendment's plain language
4. Traditional family values
5. The Legislature making the law and the courts enforcing it.
6. Individual Liberty and Self Reliance
7. Private charity over Government welfare
8. Capitalism over Collectivism

Thanks for dropping by and leaving a comment here. Come back often, you are always welcome here.

I am reminded (after the Liberals now "preach": Can't we all come together) of the following quote from the movie "The Comancheros":

Ranger Capt. Jake Cutter: Let him make a run for it, I'd say to myself.
Paul Regret: And then what would you say?
Ranger Capt. Jake Cutter: And then I'd say back to myself, you can't let him run. You swore an oath when they put that badge on you.
Paul Regret: And that's important to you?
Ranger Capt. Jake Cutter: I said I swore an oath.
Paul Regret: Words!
Ranger Capt. Jake Cutter: Mon-sewer, words are what men live by... words they say and mean.

The Liberals no more mean these words than I am the King of Siam (and I don't even look like Yul Brynner). They are only saying it because it suits their purposes.

The Democrats liked us when they had the majority for 40 years and the Republicans in Congress were grabbing their ankles. So as long as we go along to get along they will like us now.

Let us therefore animate and encourage each other, and shew the whole world, that a Freeman contending for Liberty on his own ground is superior to any slavish mercenary on earth." --George Washington

it's natural

I am glad to see that nearly every con that i know of wants to be civil and wants Obama to be a good president while at the same time figuring out how to defeat his bad ideas. The Dem/libs are just looking for cover with their wanting to be friendly.

Oh how quickly they forget....

I got a call the other day from a friend, who wanted to gloat. When I responded rather lack-lusterly, he said, "well, why don't you just give him a chance first?"

To which I answered, "Well, when his policies fail, it will be because of their merit. And it won't be because I refused to sign on--anymore than Bush's failures have been because your side called him 'Hitler.'"

And he said, "Who called Bush 'Hitler?'"

Oh hurl.

Grey Ghost

Yep, your point rings absolutely true. Ideas have consequences, and if your word means nothing, why should anyone ever listen to you?

Good to see you here in the Heartland, thanks for stopping by.

JDW

I just don't see any middle ground on these issues, do you?

1. Gun Control
2. Abortion
3. Nationalizing Healthcare
4. Suppressing political speech
5. Ending secret ballots.

you're either for them or against them. There just isn't any ground upon which to compromise. The only solution is for one side to win and the other to lose. Even the great Obama cannot bridge this chasm.

Scarlet Pimpernell

To quote Dennis Prager, there are two parties in America: The dangerous and the stupid. Currently the dangerous party is in power.

BTW: I belong to the stupid party.

Scottie

At least today the Prop 8 protest was not really covered in CA. As the state of CA is on fire again.

As for getting along, funny how all of sudden we are supposed to join hands and sing and get along. It was okay to bash President Bush and continue to scream - stolen election year after year.

I would never spew the garbage the left has about a President Bush. The sad thing is they all thought it was okay to do so.

Shining City

Being a liberal means never having to:

1. Articulate and defend a consistent position
2. Apologize for any of your past positions
3. Acknowledge that your ideas don't work when they don't.
4. Remember any position you've previously taken.

Your friend is either a liberal or has been holed up in a cave for the past eight years.

Sue

Always good to see a new face here in the Heartland; welcome!

The cognitive dissonance of liberals on the one hand offering an olive branch while on the other throwing a tantrum and demonizing the right as "haters" because we disagree with them and their policies augers for a looooooong road ahead for conservatives. Fortunately, I don't think the left has enough collective discipline to avoid badly overreaching in fairly short order.

Kindergarten lessons!

Can't we just learn to play nice in the sand box? Sure, but the Dems/Libs idea of playing nice is play my way or I'll take my toys away.
Scottie, you made an excellent point that needs repeating and expansion. The Dems/Libs need to see how adults how handle things so that maybe if the behavior is modeled enough for them, they will actually learn it. I learned a long time ago that arguing with Dems/Libs is futile because they are incapable of reasoning, much like a child. If you look at their actions and reactions, you will see that everything is childlike. One of their much lauded child-development theories is Piaget's theory and, as far as I can tell, most of them got stuck in the Preoperational period of development. Their thinking is ego-centric therefore they have difficulty taking the viewpoint of others. Their mental operations are sparse and logically inadequate so they are unable to articulate and defend a position. Their reasoning is intuitive rather than logical so they are unaware of how they came to their conclusions. They assign emotions to everything including inanimate objects. This puts them squarely in the Kindergarten class and thus should be handled accordingly.

Libs don't think, they emote! I think the appropriate word here is nihilism or to borrow Tammy Bruce's term, malignant narcissism. Thanks for dropping by. You are always welcome here in the Heartland.
