Although I knew the generalities of the Chinese Christian situation, it was helpful to read some of the details.

The Chinese Christians sound very much like 1st Century Christians, so convinced of their salvation that they could sing as they faced death by lion in Roman ampitheaters. Although I think the US should speak up on their behalf, I'm not altogether convinced that persecution is something Christians shouldn't experience. It worked to built the apostolic Church. Maybe it would work to wake up the modern Church. Certainly, we need something to renew our passion of the Lord. Far too many American CHristians are living in Laodicea or Sardis.

Did you know that the Chinese Christians pray that American CHristians will face persecution, so that it might strenthen our faith? Maybe they're more in touch with the Holy Spirit because it would appear that the Chinese Church, under horrible persecution, is growing much, much faster than the Church in "free" America and Europe. Just an observation.
