On Obamacare, Dear Congressman

Superb Summary

of the issues at had, BMU! Hope you get an appropriate response. I have taken the steps of understanding from my Doc what happens when I "opt out" of any healthcare if the government passes ANYTHING. Your last paragraph is excellent .... paraphrasing, to live free and die free is preferable to living in fear of what government may "do" to me or "decide" for me.

The grill is clean and the fire hot

Time to barbecue some backside as Congress heads home to face the people.
The only quibble I have with your letter is replacing "people" with "politicians". Those currently in charge would rather insert "masses" instead, for that is how they perceive us. We are just the masses (and an unwashed bunch at that according to Harry Reid's sensitive nose) in desperate need of their guidance, oversight, and benevolence. Only they are capable and qualified to determine how best we live our lives.

Excellent Letter!

Very thoughtful arguments and well presented, BMU! Your letter speaks for so many Americans who are very concerned about the direction the nation is headed. How can anyone have faith in this prez or Congress? Thousands of pages of bills which cost trillions of dollars. Congress throws around numbers like billions as if they were all just loose "change". Be sure to let us know if you hear from Senator Sessions!

Mrs. AL, Thanks so much

You have paraphrased well. I see our liberties slipping away. If we don't keep them ourselves, they will be lost. George Washington spoke of the Constitution saying, "... its only keepers, the people."

Saltwater

You have made the point truly. The elitist snobs in Washington do not view us as citizens but subjects. In their view, we are not free men, but serfs and they are our lords. I thought we had left the feudal system behind, but it appears to be making a comeback.

Hello dawndawn,

Its like the barbarian hordes have come into the capitol city and are sacking the treasury. The only problem is We the People ELECTED those clowns. I am planning to attend the townhall next Wednesday. Hopefully he will get an ear full. I think Pete's a pretty good sort, though I fault him, George Bush, and my 2 Senators for voting for TARP last September.

I saw & heard SEVERAL audios/videos/reports where Snowbama and his 7 Dwarves (Dopey, Dopey, Dopey, Dopey, Dopey, Dopey and Dopey) are being HAMMERED over HR 3200. It might be a good idea to add the Census, Obama’s Transcripts, Cash for Clunkers and any number of other issues to the discourse.

Good letter

And I do think healthcare is one of those aspects that sounds really good but actually infrignes on our liberties.

The scary part is that I think it will go through...

Bob

I'm hoping more politicians actually LISTEN to the people and not Obama and his constituents. And if more people would actually read the bill, yet alone the system of Canada and/or Britain, maybe they'd realize how different paper is from reality. And we also have to ask these who are in favor for the bill... What has Obama done that has worked yet?

Georgetwin

I like the dwarve's names. So original. LOL. But truly, I will add as many of these backward Socialist ideas as there are to the mix. There appears to be no end to their perversion.

VaDad, Thanks

Infringes on our rights. So true. If I see a man bleeding by the side of the road, and take and care for him and pay to have his wounds dressed and cleaned, I am a Good Samaritan. If however, there is that same man bleeding by the side of the road and a politician comes and knocks me down and steals my wallet in order to pay to take care of that bleeding man, I am, then a victim of robbery, the politician is a thief and I cannot be certain the bleeding man was cared for after all, since the thief, no doubt, kept most of the money.

Eric

I'm not sure that many of the politicians WANT to listen. Some of them, no doubt, see this as their chance to secure their power over the unruly serfs of the manor.

The "townhall meetings" are really starting to bother the Democraps. With the Administration asking people to turn in anyone who writes something "fishy", I would make a judgement call that Congress and O'Vomit are getting petrified.

Even their friends in the MSM aren't really helping. The "Net" is just too good at passing around information.

BTW, your reply to VADad was a classic. You really need to do an article using nothing but what you wrote.

Gray Ghost

Sorry for the delay in response. I just got back from vacation. I appreciate your comments here.
I went to Pete Session's Townhall meeting last Tuesday and it was quite interesting. I'm guessing between 2 and 3 thousand showed up and probably 90% anti-Obamacare. About 15 people were able to ask questions or make a statement. About 6 of them spoke in favor of Obamacare without knowing what was in the bill. Someone had a phonebook sized copy of the House bill and "was glad to show them" what was in it. Pete even had a slide show and the infamous P.16 section where everyone loses their private insurance.
Funny thing, some Obamacare supporters shouted "What would Jesus do?" Jesus spoke mostly about INDIVIDUAL behavior. Kind of like the Good Samaritan.

Bob's Nephew

It comes down to freedom, doesn't it? Well they are going to hear from us in September....

Good Letter

Too bad these b*stards ain't listening.
