Yellow Dog Democrats: Defined

Good essay. I have no argument with any of your points.

My war was Vietnam. As an enlisted man, I knew that the VC/NVA rarely took American enlisted men as long-term prisoners; they were summarily executed.

After being medevac'd back to the world in the middle of my third tour, I was reclassified and assigned as a clerk in the med center. When the POW's were released to various military hospitals in CONUS, there was only one POW released to Ft. Gordon, GA who was an enlisted man. I wasn't surprised.

It also doesn't surprise me that people like H. Clinton, H. Reid, etc. seem to think we can peacefully co-exist with the likes of the IslamoFascists.

Reid truly believes, along with most Democrats, that the USA can merely pay off the IslamoFascists and they will go back to the peaceful merchants and traders they used to be (pre-Mohammad).

The Democrats will be glad to raise taxes to pay the danegeld, then will publicly state that "diplomacy" works. Diplomacy works only if the other side isn't able and willing to kill you. That's an intellectual hurdle the Democrats can't seem to get over.
