Speeding off the Cliff

I decided to disavow any critics who said to pass "Spped Racer", and I'm glad I did because they were all a bunch of crocks. The film was, to me, the second best film I've seen so far (the first being "Iron Man".) To me, the problem with these reviews is that they didn't really appreciate the anime asthetic of the film. I'm a big fan of anime (by which I mean watching Adult Swim shows like "Death Note", "Bleach", "Inuyasha"), so I was eager to see it.

To my suprise, the story was far more intricate than you would think, particularly for a kid's movie. I kept hearing the reviews that the characters were less dimensional than their anime counterparts, the story was just a two-hour Saturday morning cartoon. Baloney!
The characters were far more dimensional than I expected based on those gloom and doom reviews, particularly Speed and Racer X.

No, I'm not some scab for Warner Brothers. I don't really like the company anymore based on some of their recent corporate decisions and such. Still, I would give Speed Racer *** out of **** stars (Iron Man was ***1/2.) Now, I just have to wait for the next Indiana Jones film.
