Nee

That is one of the most hauntingly beautiful and heartfelt tributes to our fallen that I've seen in a long time. Moving so doesn't cover it.

well done

I'll have to check the pic when I get home, but the rest gets the traditional Navy WELL DONE.

Very moving, Nee

Well written, great shot.

My Dad's buried there. I always visit his grave whenever I get to DC.

PG

I always carry lots of kleenex...cause I just can't help feeling that I was a part of it just for awhile.

Brian

Goosebumps! Next time I ride up- You tell me the marker and I will pay my respects. It would be a pleasure to do.

Beautiful Tribute

We cannot forget those who gave their lives to keep our nation free. And who are fighting terrorism now. My grandfather died in WWII and his name is listed on a wall in DC or somewhere close.

They deserve our utmost respect and reverence.

Absolutely wonderful

I have a hard time even visiting a veteran's cemetery. It's enough to make any manly man's heart crawl to his throat, and brings tears to my eyes.

If I stop feeling choked up over anything related to this Country or our Fallen, then I know it's time to ge my asss booted to another Country-- Like that will happen!!!

The Picture Brings Tears

Thanks for placing it at your site.

GG

I took it just in case you didn't catch that. :)

More articles up at my blog.

Come by if you get a chance.

Nice Touch to Our Fallen.

I retired in 05 from the USAF and now live in Italy.

I attended my best friend’s father’s funeral at Arlington in 2003. He was a combat veteran of three wars and retired Chief Master Sergeant. I remember him putting up with his son’s and my juvenile delinquent BS. It’s a miracle he didn’t kill us both.

In later years, I recall his pride in me as a commissioned officer in his chosen branch of service. I have always been proud to wear my uniform, but none more so than that day at Arlington during his funeral.

I sometimes feel far from home, but never alone for the company of Americans. Many are still here with me:

On A Happier Note

Susan Saranden has publicly promised to leave the country if MCcain is elected ,now thats reason enough to vote for him

Nice Shot

Touching story, great story Nee! Thanks for sharing, sometimes I wonder how many remember what Memorial Day is TRULY for?? Thank you to all of our military who willingly give!

I have a portion of my almost 3 week vacation posted.
