If we can simply ( at least on paper) isolate the enzymes that can cleave the alpha bond in cellulose and convert it to glucose. Then it wont matter if you use wood or sugarcane as your substrate. Also much more work is being done to engineer yeast to tolerate higher concentrations of alcohol.
