Carbon break

I think many liberals have already done this as evidenced by the nonsense they are spewing. See our conversation with Stan on taxes for evidence. I think many liberals do this for far longer than a minute, and the lack of oxygen to the brain has caused permanent damage. For evidence of that see anything Nancy Pelosi says.

taking a deep breath

Ha! My first good laugh of the day! Thanks for the visual..much easier to understand. ;)

Expounding on your idea, I think panting should be outlawed. No more panting. Ban exercise...marathon runners should be jailed.

"..using that time to plant a small shrub" Lol

What if

What if we simply restrict access to Oxygen at hospitals?

We could cut health care bills, reduce a public fire hazard, thereby reducing insurance rates, and reduce the amount of CO2 produced all at once!

Hot Air

Yeah, the libs are full of it.

I'm sure we could restrict oxygen at hospitals, 'cept for the congress people, they can keep it w/ all their other perks. Perks like.. cost a living adjusted pay raises (incl pensions), the ability to retire after age 50 (havin "served" 20+ years in congress) or at 62 havin served 6+ years and recievin lifetime pensions, free health care at some of the elite hospitals in the world, "etc".

LMAO

You guys is so funny!

I have sleep apnea so I am doing my part to take less breathes and that is with a BiPaP and according to my doc, who lectures me often on pulmonary hypertension, heart failure and the like, I may soon be one less carbon footprint. go run and tell Dr Hansen, he can cheer.
Should I embalm, cremate, what about the carbon aspect after all I wouldn't want to introduce more carbon into the air. What about the FORMALDEHYDE?

Thanks I am still LMAO

RecknHavic

I like your graphics too. I was just researching C02 levels exhaled at rest and after exertion, so your post is timely, as well. Linda has the right idea. Bicycling may be more of a "global disaster" than driving.

Biking is also my best evidence against evolution. From Cro-Magnon man to homo-erectus to dork in styrofoam helmet and spandex.

CB

You're quite welcome. You know, the greenies are pretty funny. Some a the most enjoyable moments for me is really p*ssin em off. And Hansen, wouldn't it be a jot to hang out w/ that guy.

My advice is straight up burial, w/ of course a nice shrub on top.

Ken

Oh, we got the bike riders out the gazoo here in the Hill Country. Maybe I should go in the spandex biz.

Reck

LMAO again, you are truly funny.
Like I always say talkin' to libs, greenies etc. is like beating your head against the wall, it feels better when you stop.

Congressional HOT AIR!!

Could power the nation until the sun turns supernova and proves what a BIG HOAX GLOBAL WARMING TRULY is. YES I SAID HOAX, HOAX, LIES and HOAXES. Take that Dr. Hansen!!
Go ahead try me for crimes against humanity. So There! NA, NA, NA, NA, NA, NA.

Some Thoughts

-- Pelosi's problem was caused by a Botox needle that went a little too deep and pierced the skull-bone.

-- Is it immoral to trade carbon credits for some heavy breathing in the bedroom?

-- Cross-reference celebrities who champion global warming causes with celebrities who smoke.
[I'll never forget an anti-dairy-farming press conference held in the 90's; the participants were: Chrissie Hynde from The Pretenders, Don Henley from The Eagles, and Elvis Costello -- smokers all of them -- going on and on about methane emissions from cattle.]

-- Reck (Wednesday, 12:20 AM). "Bring out your dead! Bring out your dead!"

-- We should take Ted Turner up on his plan to curb overpopulation . . . starting with him.

-- Oil is once-living matter that has already decomposed into carbon. If we drill more and leave the plants growing (more plants equals more CO2 absorbed), the progress of warming will slow AND there will be more petroleum available for discovery millions of years from now.

I'd Be Careful CB

They're libel to cut your carbon usage allotment in half. Or worse yet, send you to an environmental re-education camp. Heard you're only allowed one tp square for each trip to the can.

king

Yes, burn the oil! Avenge the dinosaurs!

Yeah, that Pelosi is one scary beaatch; hate to see the comin at me in a dark alley.

On the glo-bull warmin front, heard that La Nina has run her course and we may have a cooler, wetter fall and winter in the southwest. I'll eat a steak to that!

Austin Party

Reck, your two favorite people were in Austin today. Al Gore and Nancy Pelosi. I was working in the ER today and there was an awful smell. It must have been their private jets (one of them taxpayer funded) and thier bloated egos.

Gorloski

Thought I felt a tremor in the Force.

Reck

Oh please, sir can i have another square.

or at least the baby wipes.

the unfairness of such an event....

when people like Al Gore use up so much more air, and generate so much hot air, there should be some kind of "breathing credit" for the less blustery....

Dave

I hear ya, Al Gore is a complete hypocrite.

This king of green lives in a 20 rm mansion (w/ 8 bathrooms), it's heated by natural gas (a fossil fuel) at a MONTHLY cost of $2,400.

George W. (the great environmental destroyer) lives in a Crawford house of 4,000 sq ft, it has a geothermal pump that draws water through pipes sunk 300 ft in the ground and is used to heat and cool the house(at 25% of regular power cost). Rain water is collected from the roof and stored in a 25,000 gallon tank; plus, water from showers and sinks is purified and then used to water the surrounding land scape.

Yet, the MSM, the UN, Hollywood, etc glorifies Al Freakin Gore.

My head may explode!

CB

No matter what they claim, never flush the wipes.

I'm just sayn...

Breathe in

Breathe out
Do the Hokey Pokey
That's what it's all about.

"So take a deep breath"

Let's dicker, ha ha

I tell you what. I might hold my breath each day if you put 6 Ann Coulters on the Supreme Court, and if you drill in Alaska. I am thinking about helping the libs save the planet, but they have to give a little. Come on, you libs, let's reciprocate here.

What a fun blog.

Hi Reckn. Nice to meet you.

Supreme Court

Yttr,

How about instead of 6 Ann Coulters, just replace Breyer and Ginsburg with Mark Levin and Neal Boortz. Isn't one of Limbaugh's family members a judge? How about that person replacing Stevens or Souter? We'll leave the libs the other 'S' judge and Kennedy, who sometimes makes a decent decision, but lately has become Sandra Day O'Connor.

Why Do You Think He Goes Both Ways?

... in his decisions, that is.

Kennedy IS Sandra Day O'Connor. He probably still wears some of her dresses under his robes.

Hi Y

I'd go for several Ann Coulters on the SC; heck I'd simply go for Ann Coulter.

Nice to meet you as well.

Queen Kennedy

Ok, Kennedy in drag is not a vision I needed to start the day.

how bout this

we stuff a rag down Pelosi and Reids mouth for 10 minutes everyday.....that might help the warming problem....

Maybe...

...tho those two may have gills.

Penn & Teller

A must watch video.

Reck

Apparently I'm not authorized to view this page. Where the heck are you tryin to send us?? ;)

Try This

http://www.lewrockwell.com/blog/lewrw/archives/013117.html

got it

Ha! Isn't that something? They probably just thought everyone there was like-minded. Scary really. I never sign petitions if there's no time to research it myself, which is most of the time. I've gotta be REALLY sure. (Shoot, I had a hard time deciding whether or not to sign the petition to have a streetlight put up at the entrance of our sub!) I know...life altering decision.

Street Light...

...huh?

I could go either way on that one. I mean, what are the environmental ramifications? Will it effect the feedin habits a spotted owls? Is it fluorescent? Any carbon offsets involved?

Lots to ponder.

hoo hoo

Oh man. I didn't even think about the owls! Come to think of it since it went up, I HAVE seen some run right into it. I just figured their heads were turned, ya know that whole 'no peripheal vision' thing. But had it not been there....
sniff..

Owls

Well if the light scares away the owls, then the pesky birds that are afraid of the owls will run amok, then, there goes the neighborhood. Bird poop everywhere, just because of a street light. Then think of all the children who will get spankings because they are not home before that light comes on. Think of how many truamatized children that will cause. CURSE YOU, YOU EVIL STREETLIGHT!!!!

Give A Hoot...

...don't pollute.

Yes! The evil street light must go! Was the Sierra Club when ya need em?

Got give a shout out to Schlotzsky's. The boy and I picked up some lunch and brought it home and man, the Veggie sandwich is really good. You don't even miss the meat in this thing.
Reck weight update...still over weight. Havin toped out at 202 recently, latest weigh-in...198. Oh well.

my bad

Ha ha Nestor!

Not that it matters, but I messed that. I meant TRAFFIC light, not streetlight. It was precarious getting into our sub off the road w/out a traffic light.

We don't have streetlights. Makes it easier to punish the kids that way. "Well if we HAD streetlights, they'd be ON!" Whack! ;)

Woodsy

"Give a hoot, don't pollute...
Never be a dirty bird.
In the city or in the woods...
Help keep Americaaaa looking good!"

(I still sing that occasionally.)

Traffic Lights

They added a traffic light on 290 on the road I live off of a few months ago. It seems like since we have been here (two years) they add a new light every 6 months between here and Austin. Every one seems to add a few minutes to our trips into Austin. This one though is really slow and I've never really seen traffic there to necessitate a traffic light. I suppose during school hours (buses coming in and out) maybe it gets busy. But I've never really seen traffic be an issue, until they added the light. Now there are lines of traffic even on Sunday AM. This may be the 'Bible belt', but Travis County is definitely not the buckle.

lights

Ha! "..the buckle". Ours is a sensory one which works out well. Won't turn unless you're sittin there. It's at an intersection where there were lights facing all directions of traffic except for our exit outta the sub. So we never had a "green light" to go...we didn't have ANY light. It was a bit dangerous and we'd get lotsa dirty looks, cuz the other drivers didn't know we didn't have a light facing us. Anyway, I like it. And I think it'll be good for when the kids get older and wanna ride their bikes out of the sub. Course the problem is we have to pay for it if something happens to it. Not a township or city thing. Anyway...now you know everything you need to about our traffic light. I'm sure you'll sleep better tonight.

Global Warming?

I didn't realize that he was against global warming alarmism, but I'm not real surprised as he is all about doing research so far as I can tell. Here is an article by Michael Crichton on 'global warming'. It's long, but it has some interesting facts that refute people like Al Gore's 'facts'.

http://www.crichton-official.com/speech-ourenvironmentalfut ure.html

The Light

Only problem is yalls lights are sideways.

Penn's pretty liberal, but atleast he's fairer than most.

"I'm familiar with it!"

I like that line from the P&T video. That lady should be familiar with water, but she is willing to sign a petition to ban the substance that comprises most of her body.

Penn & Teller

So what did ya'll think about Penn and Teller's appearance on West Wing? I thought it was incredible (it reduction ad absurdumed the so-called "flag burning" issue quite effectively, IMHO.)

The liberals should

make it a 10 minute breath break. Let them contribute their carbon and water to the ground (or Shai Halud).

Craw~fish~

> The liberals should make it a 10 minute breath break.

The Republican'ts will take another 40 year breath break.

Re: Penn & Teller

I think that skit (the flag burning reducion ad absurdum) has been documented fairly recently online, and I can find it easily, let me test that ...

http://www.crooksandliars.com/2008/03/14/open-thread-748/

(StanNote: at the moment you might not be able to access that using Internet Explorer. Try a different browser (ie; Opera or Firefox, etc.) if you run into that problem.)

Flag Burning

Stan,

Well, that link wouldn't open, but I for one, am FOR Flag Burning. That's right I said it, FOR Flag Burning. Did you spit out your morning coffee???? Well let me explain. The proper way to dispose of an unserviceable American Flag is to BURN IT! Not the way the Iranians do it though, as there are certain procedures which must be followed. I'm not sure of all of the details, but I believe one part is cutting the 'Blue Field' from the rest of the flag. One day when my flag becomes unserviceable, I'll either look it up or take it to the VFW. I'm pretty sure the VFW destroys unserviceable flags for those who don't know how, or would rather have Veterans do it.

Flag Burning

Nestor -
> The proper way to dispose of an unserviceable American Flag is to BURN IT!

My only correction to your sentence, is that the proper way to dispose of a *SOILED* (not "unserviceable") American flag, is to burn it.

Nestor

When you are able to access that link via Intenet Explorer, I want you to notice how P&T spends the time to so correctly fold the flag.

Almost

Stan,

It appeared that they folded it properly, except, they left red showing. When properly folded, no red is visible on the flag.

Stan

Saw P n T's show on cable for te first time last nite. Tho, the language is pretty bad (atlaest from Penn :) ) it was pretty good. It was about sensitivity trainin (which is a joke). Penn is what I'd call a good liberal.

Btw, when our flags our unserviceable, we burn them as well. Note: flags made in China don't last, American made do. Our current one is over two years old.

American Flag (Made in China)

When I bought my flag, I made sure that it was made in the US. I was originally looking for it at Wal-Mart and thought "Oh, crap! Wal-Mart's flags are probably made in China." They were US made, but they were really cheap quality. I eventually bought it at the local ACE Hardware. Good quality and American made.

American Made, American Flag

There's a flag store in Bellaire (which is within Houston (if not the Ohio version)) -

http://www.kronbergsflagsandflagpoles.com/

Actually, I don't know if what they stock is American manufactured (I mean, are flags even made in America these days?), but I know this company *RESIDES* in America (what's left of it.)

Reck

I learned it as "soiled" in the Boy Scouts (before they were taken over by the right-wing extremists.)

Bellaire/Houston

Since their (Kronbergs) website listed themselves with a Houston address, I've studied some maps more closely, and it does appear that a section of Houston juts into the body of Bellare (in the area of Kronbergs.) And it appears that the actual location of Kronberg's is in Houston. It does appear to be across the street from Bellaire, though. It definitely has a Bellaire phone number ...

US made?

Nestor -
> They were US made

Did you know that on the island of Saipan(sp? (or maybe I've even got the wrong island on this)) they get to mark on their (supposed) products (with our permission) these words: "Made In The USA"?

Breath Easy ....

I would like to go watch TV in Pelosi's house after having eaten lots of steak, beans, garlic and onion. And a can or two of Dr. Pepper.

Arma(nius)

> I would like to go watch TV in Pelosi's house after having eaten lots of steak, beans, garlic and onion. And a can or two of Dr. Pepper.

Say, do they make Dr. Pepper with real sugar instead of corn syrup on DeLay's Island (Sypan(sp?))???? That would be a treat.

On TH

Check it out, McCain Is Forgetting The First Rule Of Fight Club -

http://www.townhall.com/columnists/SalenaZito/2008/08/03/mc cain_is_forgetting_the_first_rule_of_fight_club

Notice this cute quote within (and think of ME!!!! (I've been saying all along that the McCain't campaign is the DULL(/Kontempt) campaign) -

" ... They know McCain is bigger than the campaign he is running, and wonder why he is acting so small.

Siegel points to Bob Dole’s campaign against Bill Clinton in 1996, when “the message that Dole was running on against Clinton was, ‘Where is the outrage?’

“Dole had nothing positive to say,” he adds. “He came across as a snarling, angry old man and, frankly, McCain is looking snarlier, angrier and older than Dole. ... ”

Armanius

She'd probably make you purchase some carbon offsets to counteract usin all that gas.

Craw

Valid point. Unfortunetly these liberals seem to recycle themselves (ie. Clinton's promise of change in '92 and OB's promise of change in '08).

Reck

What about Carter's promise to destroy our dependence on foreign oil???? It's too bad that Reagan destroyed that. We (America) would be much better off if we followed the lead that Carter layed down.

I'll say it again (though this might be the first time I've said this on TownHall), history will (accurately) record Carter as one of the best Presidents of all time.

Carter

"history will (accurately) record Carter as one of the best Presidents of all time."

And I thought you didn't have a good sense of humor. I stand corrected.

Stan

I agree with Reck. You'd make a great straight man in a comedy routine Stan. Carter's the best president? What makes it funny is he probably couldn't even be president of his neighborhood association.

Reck

Senator John Warner(sp?) - 'Carter was right. (on his energy policy which Reagan destroyed)'

Stan

a) The Boy Scouts have not been taken over by right wingers. They still espouse the basic, traditional American values that they always have.
b) The proper way to dispose of ANY unservicable US flag is by burning, not just soiled flags.
c) The original cane sugar Dr Pepper is referred to as "Dublin Dr Pepper", as the only DP bottling plant that still uses that recipe is in Dublin, TX. It used to occaisionally be available at Central Market in Ft Worth. When we saw it, we'd always buy a case.
d) Carter was the worst President of the 20th century. Of course, Obama would make him look brilliant.

Links

Reck,

I just realized that you have a link to Weather Underground...just like Obama.

hey Reck

funny post. nice extrapolation of a stupid idea.

One of my all-time favorite bumper stickers:

"Save the planet. Kill yourself."

SP

Nice hearin from ya. Are you still on sabbatical?

I may get that sticker.

Craw

Just curious, do you happen to realise how Bush (jr.) has made Carter look?

10, 2 *AND* 4

Craw -
> c) The original cane sugar Dr Pepper is referred to as "Dublin Dr Pepper", as the only DP bottling plant that still uses that recipe is in Dublin, TX.

I see that you've been reading the (real) Liberal media (The Houston Press.) :-)

I'll bet that if it's bottled overseas, they use real sugar. ;-)

Craw

> The Boy Scouts have not been taken over by right wingers.

ROFLMAO!!!!

> Carter was the worst President of the 20th century.

IMHO, history is starting to show that he was one our finest President's. It's already shown that he's one of our finest eX-Presidents.

Hey SP

Nice seeing you again. Sorry I haven't been to your (and your other little right-wing friends here on TH (with the exception of Recknhavic), they're not really your friends, are they), but I've been totally distracted by real life (amongst other things.) Maybe in about a month I'll have the time ...

Reck

> John Warner's an idiot.

John Warner's a Republican.

Dr. Pepper

http://www.comedycentral.com/colbertreport/videos.jhtml?vid eoId=178712

Believe it or not, I used to be the President of the Dr. Pepper International Fan Club. :-)

Stan

I'm aware that Warner's a republican't.

If you're one thing, you're consistent...
"do you happen to realise how Bush (jr.) has made Carter look?"
and
"history is starting to show that he (Carter) was one our finest President's. It's already shown that he's one of our finest eX-Presidents."
Baseless statements w/out any supportin data; and you wonder why I replaced you w/ LC.

i'm back Reck

stop by when you get the chance.

Reck

As if you really think that I care that you dropped me from your blogroll. Do you really thin I trusted you to keep the link up there???? ROFLMAO!!!! Y in the hell do you think I have this name/pseudo on TH???? Don't you recall the history *OF YOUR OWN* (classic Houston history there) blog????

Reck

> I'm aware that Warner's a republican't.

I believe you. It takes one to know one, right????

Re: Dr. Pepper

> http://www.comedycentral.com/colbertreport/videos.jhtml?vi d eoId=178712

BTW: If you didn't know/get this/it, Sunkist is owned by Dr. Pepper these days (as I understand it)

Reck

> I miss your blog already.

Dude, if you're actually thinking of voting for McCain't, you're just missing it.

RecknHavic

In a few days, I will probably come out on the McCain/Palin ticket. The reason will be clear after tomorrow.

Check my site for new articles (one that I promised I would write 35 years ago).

Also, tomorrow check my site for an article about the oil fields in the USA. Scr*w Red Nanny and the rest of her minions!

What I will print tomorrow will blow the Dumbocraps out of the water and probably force me to support the McCain/Palin ticket.
