Dated a man, found out he wasn't so
A few years ago I dated a guy whom was a big strong guy. He was into sports and video games, all the normal man stuff.
Ugh...was I ever WRONG! He cried and melted into a puddle over any little thing! I had to get rid of him. He was wearing me down!
I thought HE was supposed to be the man? Not me??
I am a strong woman. I can take care of myself. I work hard. I can manage the entire household (my son, the dog, cooking ,cleaning, minor repairs, the bills) with no help. But at the end of the day, I want a man there who is going to BE a man!
I don't believe that my son being raised by me is going to make him any less of a man, but I do want him to understand what it is to be a man. It doesn't have to mean he is captain of the football team, but I want him to be strong and be able to stand on his own two feet and to be able to handle a woman the way a woman wants to be cared for in a relationship.
My son has three GREAT male rolemodels in my dad and my brothers. (Not that mom couldn't teach him to throw a ball or grapple!). I don't want him to be well...a sissy!
I don't think that it is wrong to want that. All this "metro" stuff makes me sick at times...and femenists make me more ill...

you are right
American Sweethearr: you are right. A single woman does not necessarily raise a wimpy boy any more than assuming two parents will automatically raise a manly boy. It is your values that will raise him to manhood. And it looks as if your's will be a man.
thanks for the comments.

Celebrate Masculinity and Femininity
We need to fight back against those who try to feminize boys and men and act like there is no difference between men and women. I'm glad there is a difference! I wouldn't want to marry a guy, even though I could get a license to do so in California if I divorced my lovely wife.

Socks?
I don't even wear underwear.
Both my sons were raised with an eye to being men when they grew up, When the teachers grumped about them "being boys" I asked them if they thought the kids should be neutered to make them behave themselves. Or if maybe I should just write a formal complaint to the school board in response to an ignorant teachers absurd requests.
Mostly, I didn't get along with my sons teachers, but it didn't bother me then, and still doesn't now when my grandsons teachers make stupid statemets.

Whimpy kid
I have a question for any one that can help. I have a 11 year old son. Who cries sometimes for what i think is silly stuff. He's very sensetive. he some times talkes like he's a girl and will tease and say he is. But he still plays in the mud, plays football, soccer, wrestles, and is in to bigfoot trucks. I have been divorced for 3 years and i have my son allmost all the time. His dad does things with him . But my new boyfriend who I've been seeing for 3 years seems to think my son is to girly and whimpy( ie he still likes to take a bath) I didn't know that taken a bath made you less of a boy. How can i gently change my son and tell him stop talking like a girl you need to act more like a boy he is all boy but, he's soft a little to soft. I've talked to him before I wrestle with him but it's not the same and wrestling with a guy. His dad says he's to old for that. i need help how can I change or fix this?
