Too Clever For Their Own Good

history is old stuff

Our nation was unique before we became different from everybody else. Sorry I've been laughing over some Yogi-isms.

Geographically huge, our elections have always been affected by rumors and slander as bad news travels much faster than good. The same is true now, but we have the added "bonus" of so much information that every voter can easily locate a huge volume of "facts" to support any view point, no matter how divorced from reality it might be.

The representative style democracy was the fruit of just such observations by our founders.

Libs have a hard time accepting that any idea that's not theirs is not properly thought out. They also think that "status quo" is inherently bad.

These idiots will have to learn the hard way to respect their elders.

I agree with you. Just as with art, literature, and pretty much every other area of the humanities, the libs are obsessed with overthrowing tradition, not realizing it became tradition for a very good reason.

Things become established over decades or centuries because they work. There has to be a very good reason to reject centuries of experience.

Yet, the left seems to revel in rejecting traditions, even if they have nothing better to put in its place.
