Comment on: "From the Corps to the Classroom

A Rod, a God, Two Nuts, and a Pedagogue

Two Nuts indeed

I hate when Townhall sends particularly long responses to the void. Anyway:

The telltale sign that Mr. Pistachio is part of the PC crowd is that his response to your teaching methodology was "a teacher's job is to teach."

Given that any unbiased observer would note that your students are objectively learning, and therefore you are objectively teaching, I propose that Mr. Pistachio was silently adding "multiculturalism and 'self esteem'" to his otherwise objectless verb in the same manner that "I am pro-choice" has no verb to clarify its direct object[choice]. (Forgive me if my English is off, I have never been an ace with DO/IO phrases in odd constructions.)

His problem is not that you are failing to teach, but that you are not teaching in "the proper context." Ironically, "the proper context" is PC inanity, which by definition has no context as it condemns rendering judgement.

Therefore, I propose upon the next such assault, you ask how it is that you are "not teaching" if your students are objectively learning. When you recieve the predictable reply attacking the methodology, calmly ask them to explain how they can render judgement on your teaching methods, when they want you to teach within a context that condemns the same.

Watching PC sychophants twist themselves into pretzels attacking what could arguably be called "a different teaching culture" is quite fun.
