A Conference Call With Bloggers Regarding "A Mormon In The White House?"

Good post.

Call me a skeptic, but I tend to think that, if the world has changed, the attackers will adapt, too.

In other words, I still think attacks will work -- but the tactics may have changed...

It's just that politics has always been bare knuckles and back rooms. As much as I believe in technology, I don't think it can overcome human nature.

You are indeed correct

Yes, the atackers will adapt, but I stil maintain that at the primary level national ads really do not matter. The national ad tactic will only be useful in the general election, and THEN the Democrat opponent had better watch their step.

For example, should this race turn into Hillary vs. Romney, Hillary had better not pull a Kerry or Edwards. Remember the comments about Nary Cheney? She had beter not pull a stunt like that with his religion. She will shoot herself in the foot.

The same goes for Rudy, but for Hillary to go after him, he leaves her no avenues of attack. If she does attack him on any of his social issues (except the thrice married issue, which is utterly irrelevant to begin with) then she is painting herself as the hypocrite in the race because she shares more extreme views on those issues.

The times have indeed changed, but so has the electorate, which is the point that Hugh was making. See, in the beginning there was thje MSM who told voters about candidates. With the rise of New Media, people no longer have to rely on the bias of those outlets. Dan Blather and Perky Katie Cupcake will not be ruling the day. It falls to the New Media, and New Media can adapt and correct itself far quicker than the old media.
