If there was enough blame to go around for both Democrats and Republicans, the Dems would have been tying it around the neck of the first Republican they could find to blame and demanding he be hung in effigy, then tried, found guilty and hung for real.

Unfortuantely (for the Dems) there don't appear to have been any Republicans who were working at Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac creating the problems.
