This thought, that someone has thought about something prior to you, and quite possibly thought about it better than you, takes no small bit of humility to digest, but it is no less true in general. While it is possible to advance thoughts beyond those who originally pinned them, it is a rare individual who can do this. It is a testimony to the human condition that we all think we are this individual.
