Profits - we don't need no stinking profits. I can't believe he said that. Of course his words were taken out of context. I have not heard tht one lately, so we can raise that from the dead.
As for Pelosi, please send this woman away!

Sue. I guess your daddy couldnt afford $40k a year to get you one of them Ivy League dee-grees. All profits are EVIL! we want jobs without profits...you know, like Cuba, a place I am told by a wonderful film has better schools and medical coverage than the US. Well, we've socialized the schools so that part might be true but we're going to have to wait for the Fairness In Medicine Act for our medical services to approach the Cuban standard.

"Keep in mind that the Card Check Bill ( the Worker Freedom Act or some such Orwellian title) just was amended to include a provision that deadlocked labor disputes will be 'arbitrated' by a government board with the power to determine 'fair wages and conditions'."
Please tell me that is not true. That IS communism. The government basically setting wages is exactly what communism does. Jeez, we are screwed if that is the case. I should just find my way onto a government paycheck for "disability" or something to decrease the amount of pain I will have in watching our dissolution as a country.

I Dont Know CK...
The new stimulus bill includes a provision that extends Medicare to people over 55. They're raising Food Stamps and I'll bet they come up with something that keeps that mean old bank from kicking me out of my house if I dont pay my mortgage. They did that in England in the 70's. They also did the labor board thing there too. Their wages were so fair that the country was sliding into poverty. An employee couldnt be fired or laid off unless the labor board ruled on how much severance money the poor mistreated devils deserved. Thats why I cleaned up as an illegal alien working for cash. Employers were afraid to hire people they couldnt fire. For good reason from what I saw. Socialism brings out the pig in people. Anyway, with all these big ol' benefits these punks are going to be handing out it might just be worth it to kick back and enjoy... until it all goes broke, of course.

No kidding. Live off what they are giving up until it dries up. Someones going to do it, might as well be me right? Im just kidding. I don't think I could handle the shame of not supporting myself, but I know there are lots of people willing to suck off the government. Our country really has hit the point of no return with how the unions and government have a stranglehold on our corporations. Just had to happen as I head out of school. Im thinking of going into the Navy or Air Force just to prepare myself for war. Once our country falls into bankruptcy I see anarchy spreading and there will be a war similar to the civil war, only there won't be a single battlefield.
Ill stay optimistic for now, but better safe than sorry.

Obama may think he's Lincoln but he acts like FDR. This wage and price gimmick was in part responsible for extending the depression.
The War Labor Board, and it's successor the Wage Stabilization Board, contributed to stretching the depression to nearly 15 years.
I automatically distrust any bill with the words freedom, security, fairness, etc in it's title. I'm not sure I remember the name correctly but there was something like the "Bank Customer Information Security Act" which sounds great but actually says banks must give the government information about you and are forbidden to tell you about it.
This group of socialists are convinced, just as their predecessors were, that it will work if their in charge.
The crash is going to be spectacular! Here's hoping it doesn't fall on us.

Which ship in our two-ship navy will you be on...the minesweeper or the tender? Our four Piper Cub air force probably wont have any openings although Federal Air Lines will need a 25,000 person staff to manage its two grounded airplanes. The concept of 'jobs' and 'work' is about to change.

"What happned to greed is good?"
Did you ever see that Sam Peckinpaugh film 'The Wild Bunch'? Our government is going to be like that of General Mapache...somewhat acquisitive. Tom Daschle in charge of the HHS goodie wagon with a cool tril to hand out to his gawking cohorts will be good greed as opposed to profit-making companies which is bad greed.

It already has fallen on me. The greed and selfishness of the Writer's Guild ensured that 2008 was a horrible year for the film business...oh, wait, it was the genocidal policies of Karl Rove and the Right-Wing Republicans. Not to say that it cant get worse. I've stopped worrying. We should wean ourselves from a comfortable middle-class life one day at a time. Its my kids I feel sorry for.

You think the Navy will still have BOTH a Minesweeper AND a Tender? I suspect that if the Obamatrollers have their way, the Navy will be much more representative of the Congress - a fleet of Dinghies.

They'll need something to tag along to make sure that when the Clintons do a deal to smuggle a shipload of coke up from Columbia nobody gets any ideas. There are lots of progressive pro-people things a non-imperialist military can do.

I have already initiated my plan to avoid the coming storm. I am looking at small subsistence farm where the whole family can live. Real estate is getting cheaper all the time particularly in the country.
The place is overrun with deer. In fact it's almost identical to my g-g-grandfather's place.
It's back to basics!

I hope you arent thinking about threatening our four-footed animal citizens with a weapon. Any wetlands (aka mud-puddles) on this farm for the EPA to manage? Will you happily donate your bourgeois enterprise to the Jim 'Melonhead' Webb Collective Farm when the time comes?
