Academia - No debate allowed
We are Certainly living a dangerous times. Open debate is definitely out of the window it seems. I am not sure where I stand on the guns issue but, feel that more open debate is needed without punishment for individual thoughts that are in conflict with the liberals. It is frightening indeed when the liberals amongst us do not allow individuals to be responsible for their actions but, continue to find excuses for the evil deeds that are carried out by such ones.
When will those oppressed and hurt be taken care of?
What justice for the ones that cannot speak for themselves because they have been killed?
Surely, we should all be open to debate to try and prevent any further bloodshed? We need to accept that some people are just bad and do not want to do good. THEY HAVE A CHOICE, no one had a gun to Cho Seung Hui's head. He did what he wanted to, it was premeditated. HELLO liberal???
HE WAS PREPARED!

I am a University
teacher and you are right. I have been warned by other teachers over lunch to "watch what you say.!" There is no freedom of speech even while having lunch.
I would get fired also if I had a discussion about allowing people to carry guns on campus.
I am dismayed that in academia, there is no dabate allowed.

Great post.
Well said...this is what the socialist left has done to our country...it will take years to turn back the tide, if ever...only God knows where we are headed.
To the Left, their political cause is their religion, be it banning guns, global warming, high taxes, you name it...and that's why we have a challenge on the right...politics is NOT our religion, and the religious zeal of the left is stronger than our desire to fight for lost ground, I'm afraid...

I am horrified at the fact that we are no longer allowed to voice opinions without in some cases being in fear of our livelihoods. This is wrong. Even criminals have a voice! What has happened to our Societies in England and America?
The left/liberals seem to be taking control and no one seems to be doing anything about it.
What a world we are living in, back to totalitarian times it seems, even though, we are supposed to have free minds and many political parties to choose from, it seems that this is not the case at all. This situation is dangerous for all free minded people.

Yes, our societies in England and America have radically changed over the last 30 or so years. It seems, that all of a sudden free speech and free thought had disappeared. Evil isn't always so noticeable. In fact Evil likes to fly way under the radar and that is exactly what happened in Academia, and in the media. There are only a few venues where true and open debate occurs. One place is on the Internet and the other is on talk radio. All free people welcome your comments and your desire to live in a free and open society once again. God Bless both England and America!

Yes, we are living in frightening times and it seems to me that no one is allowed to say what they think.
Thank God for the internet because for those of like mind, it is the only means of open communication freedom of thoughts and expression wherever you are in the world. Unfortunately, due to the time difference and my location I am unable to take part in talk radio.
My mind is very much focused on what is happening here in England and the USA. I do not like what I see.
I think it is an excellent idea for the USA to start vetting British person of certain descent before allowing them into the USA, about time to! (I hope it is true what I read in our newpapers) Of course, in some quarters this will be totally unacceptable, because common sense measures are not allowed to prevail as a means of protecting the majority. We must not infringe upon the rights of the minorities even if some of them wish to kill us!!!!
I think that Britain should stop anyone from re-entry to the UK if they have been to certain terrorist countries, especially a single man on his own! (tale, tale sign!!! Unless, to pick up a wife, which is quite common!
I wish our Governments would listen to our thoughts because I am sure that we could all come up with good measures to protect ourselves that would be acceptable to all.
Only the ones with evil intent will object to any measures because in my view, if they do not have evil intent they will understand the measures and accept them even if they do not entirely agree. They will realise that it is to make the MAJORITY of people feel safer and this will bring about better relations between people of different cultures and beliefs. Surely, those that live in our countries want to live in peace and harmony? We shall see by their actions when new measures are put in force, hopefully.
God bless USA and England. But, let us look after ourselves too by guarding our borders. Do our Governments have the courage to take the action needed???
WE SHALL SEE
