Arlen Specter was a moderate Democrat, Moderate Republican, and is now a Moderate Republican again.
Those who purchase the safety of being re-elected by shifting their personal compass with the political winds of opportunity can't be trusted.
The objective of the job of CONgress person is not be re-elected term after term after term....
The job is to SERVE.
That concept has been lost. Reagan invited all of the moderates to join with him as Conservatives or find another tent to live in. It works for a true Conservative. Not so much for the Bush 43 types of DIABLO though.
