I do dispute, however, that your linked articles refute Just War theory, vis a vis the Iraq War. The authors are as guilty of over-simplification as the latter author accuses Michael Novak of. Failure to recognize that there were multiple justifications prior to the war is as disingenuous as the persistant changing of the goals and reasons ex post facto that the Administration is guilty of.

There are several conservatives here at Townhall who are rather wedded to Just War. The utilitarianism of the right is not new, however. U.S. gov't is coalitional gov't despite the fact that it only has two competative political parties. Utilitarians have found frequent common cause with those of a more Morally Absolute turn of mind.
