No candidate who might be friendly to the U.S. is allowed to run in Iraq. Such people are jailed, tortured, and harassed.

Iranian "democracy" is a directed "democracy": the mullahs determine the outcome ahead of time and permit candidates to run who will achieve those results. Those results will never be a pluralistic society or a responsible government.
