LOL, Keys!
You have GOT to set your Mom straight. Johnny Rivers's "Seventh Son" wasn't in "Jesus Christ Superstar". The Rivers song came out WAY before JCS.
I've got the old JCS vinyl LP -- and yes, I'm old enough to have bought it when it first came out -- and it's not there.
"Seventh Son" was a hit in 1965 -- I was a senior in HS -- and JCS came out in 1970 -- I was already back from Nam. So... I have some pretty good milestone mnemonics there!
Great cartoon, btw. Your Dad must be EXTREMELY proud of you. I would be. My Little Girl's your age (21) and just wrapping up college, and is also a conservative in a very liberal school, and that's only ONE of the reasons she's the Light of my Eyes.
Good on both of you.

PS, Keys
I just saw your blog plug at Flag's place.
Good! You're learning! Nothing wrong with plugging yourself if you think you've got a good product (and you do). That's what sales is all about, and that was my career.

Brian is right about the JCS production. He should know since he is older than dirt, unfortunately, I'm older than he is. HaHa!
I have always maintained that old Marines make the best fathers. Just ask any former Marine. LOL!

Seventh Son is appropriate, unlike something like Muddy Waters' "mannish boy"....

"Older than dirt", Sarge?
I kinda like to thing of it as being a Golden Oldie, to maintain the musical theme. Though I suspect my daughter thinks more along the lines of Old and Moldy.
Kids!
BTW! I forgot to comment on those nutcase inbred "Deliverance"-style Phelps headjobs!
If I recall correctly, there have been court rulings against them that limit how close they can get to a funeral ceremony.
They're a true testament to the upside of abortion.

I've got my own campaign song for this cycle. Check The Who, "Won't get fooled again". The last line says it all: Meet the new boss
Same as the old boss!

PS
About 30 minutes after I posted my first comment I was in the car listening to talk radio. Our local guy was giving away free movie tickets to whoever could name the mystery artist. He played Johnny Rivers "Muddy Water", if he wasn't such a lefty I would have called. The experience caused me to buy a lottery ticket, Ill let you know how that turns out. LOL!

Seventh Son.
Is very fitting, especially with the early Obamanites fainting thing.
However, who and what we really need now is "Secret Agent Man".
I have loved Johnny Rivers since I was twelve years old, some 40 years ago.
My pleasure, anytime you need encouragement or a friend to vent drop me a post or e-mail.
You have quite a rich full life ahead of you kiddo.
Such the talent you are your cartoon speaks volumes.
Now concerning, These (KAVE KIDs) Kids Against Virtually Everything (Adopted that Phrase from Dr Mazzes radio show) don't realize what their contemporaries in the the US Military have lost so that these misdirected kids can voice thier freedom of speech. The delusions of some folks truly amazes me.
Keep growing, keep learning, and keep humble (kinda like me) chuckle, chuckle!
Your Dad must be proud
God Bless you always,
Thanks

I would go to Tony Snow's funeral and protest why God would decide to take a good guy like him at 51 years old and leave Chuck Schumer in good health to plague us with his stupidity and attempts to destroy our country.
I cant think of anything to say about the cartoon that the real Marines havent said better.

Hi Keys,
Thanks for stopping by my blog recently! I don't know this song, being that I've never been a fan of country music, but it sounds appropriate for Obama.
And YAY for all of our armed forces, our REAL heroes!!

Even though I am younger than both of you, I grew up in the South, 70 miles from Memphis and NE of Baton Rouge. I remember Johnny Rivers touring the South in the late 50's and early 60's. I still have many of his albums (In vinyl) and some of the newer anthologies in CD. Like Elvis and "The Killer" (Jerry Lee Lewis), Johnny Rivers was a "Southern" phenomenon at first.
BTW, Keys, I too enjoyed the cartoon. I know your father is proud of you too. As to "JCS", I have never seen it so I will have to take the word of the others that "Seventh Son" is not in it.
PS: BrianR, you were a senior in 1965? I thought you were older than that. I was a senior in 1969. As for "Sgt Relic", was he a vet of The War of 1812? ("He should know since he is older than dirt, unfortunately, I'm older than he is.")
