Interesting history
Very well researched. Early in our nation's history, we debated over the issue of a central bank. Alexander Hamilton lost that debate, and Andrew Jackson later made sure that the idea would be buried for a long time to come. We rejected a central bank before, but since the source of money has not become central to political debate since the days of William Bryan, Americans have quitely accepted this institution without question, as if this were an integral part of our nation.

Preciate it man.
Yea, I've read a little bit about Hamilton's and Jackson's views on the central Bank. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Jackson was really outspoken against the Second Bank of the United States, but not because it was a central bank, just because it conflicted with his views on how a central bank should function.
I don't know why people dismiss the money issue so quickly.

Nicholas Biddle
I think it was mainly the bank president, Nicholas Biddle, who upset Jackson. He thought he could use his power with the bank to manipulate Jackson, and of course Jackson would never tolerate someone that arrogant, except for himself.
