McCain's plan is

"all of the above" energy development. Alternatives like wind, solar, geothermal, and biofuels. He also supports nuclear, coal, coal to liquid, natural gas, hybrid transportation technology, and oil production. The Democrats are only for non-carbon energy development so when people start freezing to death in the winters in the coming years, and the alternatives are still years away, it will be their fault. We need a bridge of carbon based energy to carry us safely to the day when alternatives become viable as T. Boone Pickens has stated. That is the McCain program, not the straw man argument put out by Obama.

Michael

Then why are oil prices coming down [except for supply and demand]. Bush lifted executive order about off shore drilling, [OCS] prices came down even with no new oil.

Yes oil is oil on the international market, but is we drill more and sell our oil on the market then the price will come down.

The alternative energy ideas ,solar, wind, geothermal, etc. are only a fraction [at this time] of our needs. They do not as yet have the ability to stand our their own without govt subsidies, tax benefits etc.. They do need to be developed [private money] along with nuclear.

0.02 cents

0.02 cents. would be the real reduction according to recent reports. then there is the speculation factor.

people oil is over. it is history and the slower we are to realize this, the more it'll hurt.
