Comment on: Ice On Issues

To Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, Newt Gingrich and any other egotistical far right Conservative who claims to be concerned with what’s best for this nation

I agree

McCain is just not the liberal that the chatterati claims he is.

At least McCain's been reliably pro-life; he's also pro-national security, and pro-free trade. While he has said that he would not sign the Fair Tax Bill if it came to his desk, his question to Huckabee in one of the last debates shows the possibility that he might consider it. Until we can convince him, he has promised to make the Bush tax cuts (28 quarters of uninterrupted growth) permanent.

Karl Rove was on Hannity today, and pointed out that the whole "gang of 14" deal, while infuriating for those of us wanting a showdown, got us Janice Rogers Brown, Roberts, Alito, etc.; that it gave the reasonable Democrats on the committee cover so they could vote for approval of the nominees.

Fabulous!

This column is fabulous.

I was backing anothger primary candidate, but once it became clear that McCain was the winner, I wrote a column called "Fall into line!"

We cannot make the same mistakes as were made in 1992 just to prove a point.

We are at war, and McCain is a warrior. We can and should fight with him when he is wrong after the election. During the election, we must rally around him.

Again, you nailed it perfectly.

Thank you!

BLACKTYGRRR and cavalier973,

It makes me feel a little better to see that a few others get it.

We are on a dangerous road right now and all we are doing with our McCain attacks is pandering to the left and handing them the election. As this world becomes more and more liberal, less righteous and more self-righteous, even the people supporting the GOP are falling into line with viscious attacks and propeganda. 1992 was the beginning of a revolution of self-righteousness. I pray every day that our party will get off the path we are on and become a more righteous party once again. There are still enough people who will vote for McCain in the middle to take this thing, UNLESS we keep talking them out of it.

I'm not voting for McCain

I'm voting for Bob Barr because I know he'll be much better for the country than Obama or McCain.

Mc Cain won't hide

Just want to add that Mc Cain isn't afraid to take a stand on the issues. He did hesitate on the oil and energy issue; however, I would like to have him in office putting a stop to earmarks with presidential line item veto power. I believe we have John Mc Cains ear, and not his "ear mark".
David Reaganite Tonight?

Reaganite

Glad to see there are a few sane people left. I fear we will lose this one and we may just be taken down for it as a free country. People don't realize that this could all be ending soon with one Obama and one nuclear blast.

God save us all!

No soup for you

Please feel free to tell me how Bob Barr will defend this nation. He is a separatist nut-job, just like Obama. He wants to pull our troops and that would actually matter to me IF he had a snowballs chance in H@!! of doing anything besides taking 1 or 2 % of the critical votes. Do you realize that your 1-2% will be just enough to assure and Obama victory. That isn't my ignorance speaking. That is REALITY- pure and simple. It happened in 1992, thanks to Perot and Buchanan. It didn't cost us 4 yrs of Carter-like legislation as they promised, it costed us 8 years of Clinton and that is still costing us too much to this day. WAKE UP before your choice makes us see the face of a war on OUR soil with NOBODY to defend us. I don't care what you think of McCain. He is anti-abortion and he is the ONLY hope for this country in this war.

God Bless!

Translation, please!

OK, a thousand words later - what was your point? It simply boils down to one thing. McCain certainly wasn't my first (or second) choice but he's the man now. There is no way any right-thinking voter can not vote for McCain - the other option is simply unthinkable.

I read/listen to all of the above and more, and most of the time they agree with me. Each can go over the top at some point or another (as can we all, this column included) but by getting behind the guy who's left standing while standing up for and voicing principles held near and dear is not a fault. Please, it's called backbone, principles, courage. Get some and get over it.

Ken

There is a great big point in that.

Those who I mentioned are creating a virtual walk-out on this election. Their Conservative followers are going to a very dangerous place when they think that McCain is a total liberal, WHICH IS A LIE!

It is the same thing Newt did with his far right speeches in 1992. It is a replay of 92, except Obama is WAY more dangerous. Their party unifies, while ours is being split by the very people who are supposed to keep it together.

If you respond with "Blaim that on McCain for his record." I will say NO WAY! His record was what it was when America gave him the primary vote. His record is NOT what his very own spine is spinning it to be. A lie is a lie! I don't care where it comes from. Ann Coulter is not beyond accountability. She claims to be a Christian, well then why does she bear such a costly and grievous false witness?

If you think ALL Conservatives think independently of media as you and I do, You have lost it. America has a base IQ of 97 which doesn't prove well for independent thought. If you think people won't form false opinions because they are good conservatives, go to Coulter's site and read their opinions. It is downright scary. And for those who attacked me about her freedom of speech, tell me why did she take MY post off of the FIRST page of her thread??? She doesn't want the voice of reason hitting her in the wallet and her ego supercedes America.

God Bless!

My sentiments, exactly

And to those who would vote for Bob Barr of the Loosertarian (as Medved likes to call them) party... A vote for anyone other than McCain is a vote for Obama.

If you want to get an idea of what Senator Obama is really like - listen to Hugh Hewitt... He has lots of very scary soundbites of stuff that the senator says.

Thanks Brant!

If Obama gets in because of people who want "to show McCain" it will be the fault of those very people and NOT McCain. I wish people took a little more time to investigate the candidates real records, before we end up with this sleeper Muslim as president. I don't think people realize what Obama can accomplish to set this nation back withing a few months, much less 4 years. My newest article touches on what is to come with Obama. His love affair with Planned Parenthood would show you that. He will have us following in the footsteps of the Dutch with human euthanasia in no time, if elected. Mark my words! I have said that a few times years back and everything I said would happen did happen- UNFORTUNATELY! My ego doesn't make me need to prove myself right at the expense of our country. I pray we'll never know if I was right. BUT that is up to the Conservatives, whether or not they will swollow their pride and vote for McCain, a consistent pro-lifer who will defend our country.

God Bless!
