Good analysis:

One correction. It's Jeb, not Jed.

I like him too, but he won't run this time. I do see him running in 2012, to beat President Hillary. That way it will be Bush 1, Clinton 1, Bush 2, Clinton 2, Bush 3!

Your analysis demonstrates that there is no one right now to beat Hillary, since Rice and Jeb won't get in.

I knew that...:)

this article took longer than I expected and I was being rushed...but I should have proof read it more carefully and looked it up...thanks for the heads up...I corrected it.

Hey Sandra...sorry about the "discussion" with JC on your blog...but his talk about "absolutes" brought up something that's been in the back of my mind...

I have lectured and testified on abortion...so on that issue, I guess you might say I am an "absolute"...but I was thinking that if it came down to Guilliani or Hillary/Obama/Nancy...I don't know if I could stay home and refuse to vote, because to me, the issue of Islamic terror trumps everything. A Democrat WOULD sell America down the appeasement road.

It is not a position I want to be in...

Is the lack of good and viable GOP candidates posing a similar problem with you?

No problem!

The discussion is quite interesting.

About the candidates. I will vote for any Republican over a Democrat no matter what, as you said, our security is the issue right now.

Unfortunately, there are many single issue voters in the Republican Party, and immigration seems to be #1 for them right now. (See the discussion at Jimmy Carter's site.)

The current candidates? I just don't see one that will beat the "Clinton machine," which will gear up as soon as she enters the race. And, she's already got tons of money. The machine will go after everyone and gobble them up, just like it did when Clinton was President. The "scorched earth" method.

Sanity102

We desperately need a surprise candidate that will get the base excited...Snow, maybe? Someone charismatic with smarts and toob appeal...Sandra's right, our National Security is at stake, and any dem will not take it seriously...

The Push is for Romney

but he reminds me of Bush and I don't want another 8 years of bashing.

A while ago, Condi talked about her father taking her to the White House and telling her that someday she will sleep there. She laughed and said she does so quite often as she has dinner with the Bush's every Friday she's in town.

But I think her father was talking about her becoming the first Black president.

If she wants it--and Bush and Rove has been setting her up...

Ok, sigh...wishfull thinking?

Sandra:

I am trying not to read the kind of mindless crap going on about the immigration issue...so I won't read JC's blog.

By the way...any idea why he picked such a horrible handle...I REALLY loathe Jimmy Carter...even more than Clinton.

Any Republican

President will get 8 years of bashing no matter what!

During the campaign, Romney will get attacked for his religion and many conservatives will be squeamish about it.

I dream of Condi too.

No idea

on Jimmy's handle. He's a mystery man.
