In fact, every collective, i.e., multiple nation forums have always worked to the disadvantage of the U.S. When you are perceived as the strongest kids in the yard, the other kids tend to agree with you or tend to conspire against you to balance out the odds.

What has been happening post-Cold-War was that there is no more external threat (USSR) and therefore no need to humor Uncle Sam. So we end up subsidizing an organization which is working counter to the interest of the U.S.

The UN is a de facto forum for anti-Americanism. It should be shipped to Switzerland, the Sandinavias or the Middle East. They need it there more than in Gotham where they only accumulate unpaid parking tickets.

At the same time though we must endeavor to cultivate bilateral relations to make sure that we are not isolated. On a one-to-one basis, there is no reason on earth that we should be at a disadvantege.

I agree wholeheartedly with you AA. I have long believed that the United Nations was a mistake. Membership in that orgainization has cost this country dearly in the monetary sense, as well as it has given too many of our enemies access to our secret and top secret information. The United Nations is an obvious platform to launch spies, since the U.N. accepts whoever member nations send without any vetting to speak of.
And, look at what happens when we have so-called Joint-U.N. efforts in war time, such as in Iraq and Afghanistan now. We send the bulk of the troops and weaponry while other so-called member nations and allies send a token force of Social Workers, and others who undermine military efforts. I would rather stand alone in a war with Legitimate U.S. Forces, than to have a bunch of Bleeding Heart Social workers from communist nations hanging about. By the way, have you seen the New U.S. Navy Ads--They are now being tauted as a Force for Good, as if in the Bad old days of Conservatism, they Were A Force For Bad?? It is scary when our U.S. Military is being portrayed as An International Organization of Social Workers. Maybe that is why Obama will not allow the U.S. Navy to go after the Somali Terrorist Pirates? Where are Obama's loyalties? Not to the United States of America, for sure.

I agree with what you say here but it doesn't go far enough.

You said little or nothing about defunding the welfare state. Therein lies a major problem. Also, we should do away with most of the federal regulatory system. We should also eliminate federal income tax and the non-profit sector that thrives on it. Local governance is always best. Private charity, unperverted by the non-profit motive, can provide for all the needs of the truly poor and incapable.

If we entirely eliminate these things, life can be good for all without requiring anything of anybody.

I fully agree with you. The abolishment of the entire welfare system at every level of government is one of my top priorities.

The Welfare system is what has been created to destroy families, work ethics, and incentives to achieve. This is not incidental. The Socialist Engineers, beginning with LBJ and the Great Society Hogwash, was the beginning of this destructive welfare system that has all but destroyed poor familes who have now been dumbed down by a public education system and brainwashed into truly believing that they have A Right To Entitlements and Preferential Treatment and that they truly do deserve to have Redistribution of other People's Wealth which is Obama's Primary Theme. And, besides destroying family values and work ethics, the Entitlement-Minded Citizens have Zero Gratitude, and in fact Demand that they get something for nothing.

This insanity must be stopped.
