illegal aliens please read!!

My wife and I were talking about this last night, and she's Mexican . . . and she is more against the illegals jumping the border than anybody I know. Why? Because the people crossing illegally are not coming here to seek out the American dream. They are coming here with their hand held out, spitting on the red white and blue, waving their flag, and taking full advantage of the system. She's disgusted by it and doesn't even like to admit she's Mexican because the border jumpers have placed such a bad taste in everybody's mouth regarding the Mexican People. Nice first post. Why the border wasn't secured by sundown on Sept. 12, 2001, I don't know.

I frequently write about the illegal alien invasion, but I think the main problem is that we've gotten away from the vision of our founders for liberty, freedom, and personal responsibility.

If we didn't use payroll and property taxes to pay for infrastructure, medical care, schools, welfare, etc., I wouldn't care who came here (or the citizenship status of an employee), as long as they weren't brining disease, contraband, or terrorist plans with them.

If we had a system of private funding, user fees, sales taxes, tariffs paying for our services and facilities, we'd be so much better off.

The first order of business on 9/12/2001 should have been troops on the border and increased immigration enforcement. How can you expect to find terrorists among millions of illegal aliens? I have been puzzled by the lack of action on border security and illegal aliens until recently when several things coming to my attention have brought things into focus. The Totalization treaty, North American Union, etc. have convinced me that President Bush has had the plan to sell out America all along.

Wait until we have waves of refugees from Iraq emigrating to the U.S. after we "redeploy" out of there. We don't even have the spine to enforce our own laws or secure our borders so it's open season. The last amnesty in 1986 made citizens of some of the people who blew up the WTC in 1993. There is no homeland security without border security. Congress is preparing to do the opposite of what we should do: secure the border, restore respect for the law with actual enforcement. Instead we will get an amnesty only the illegal aliens and the corrupt corporations who hire them want. The borders will remain wide open so more workers can be imported for the jobs that can't be exported. Cheap labor (GOP) and cheap votes (Dems) take precedence over security. We are playing into the hands of the jihadis. We may just be the paper tiger Osama thinks we are.

I've thought for years that a porous border would be our undoing. We have to act. Illegal is illegal. They drain our resources and harm the legitimate lives of the legal aliens---most of whom are now legal citizens.

Build a wall if we have to.
