I agree

One of Michael Yon's latest posts concerned an atrocity which has left me feeling rather subdued.

The more people who get the real news from the front, the more people who are going to stop playing politics with the war and start debating politics and strategy.

Of course, most of these debates have to be done in private ... for obvious reasons.

Nevertheless, I'm fed up with the liberal anti-War attitude.

Regardless of whether people supported the original invasion of Iraq, there is a damn serious and massively complex problem there.

Cut and run just doesn't even begin to answer the problem.

And no ... I don't think I have the guts to get involved. Incredible respect to those who do.

You draft-dodger, war-yellow

types are really lethal to any rational debate.

At least GE admits what he is although every day in Iraq is pretty much the same as the day before.

Walter Cronkite used to report: "600 viet Cong and ARNV troops were reported killed today. 80 U.S. casualties were listed."

You see where that got us.

Thanks for your service. I did mine in the Marines in Viet Nam from fall of 66 to after the 68 Tet-18 months all together. No drafts dodged and took some shrapnel to the face so didn't dodge that either. And in case your wondering-I'd go today at the ripe old age of 61 if it would help in any way.

You sound like one of those folks convinced that no war is good so we have to stop. I don't think any war is good nor do I know anyone who does. But if we just stop what will the bad guys do? The logic of quitting seems to go like this. They'll quit if we do. They are only bad because we made them that way. Naughty USA!

The world, my friend, is full of ugly ammoral people who'll use any divice available to gain power-including religion where we seem to agree.
These people must either be stopped or they will have their way-Hitler, Stalin, Saddam, Usama-take your pick. Unfortunately they cannot be stopped by negotiating (see Chamberlain's peace in our time or Saddam's agreements after Desert Storm), they must be stopped the hard way.

So do you want to live free (and perhaps risk dying for that freedom as George Washington and the founding Fathers or our greatest generation did) or live under the bootheel of an evil oppressor? What kind of person are you and what do you stand for? And what will you lie down for?

Thanks for writing-I appreciate your taking the time.
