STEVE SCHMIDT TAKES RISK WITH GOP ON GAY RIGHTS

Excellent post

What great insights. Why can't liberals ever be happy when conservatives try to bridge some of the partisan gaps? Disappointing reactions from both parties in regards to Steve Schmidt's speech. I look forward to reading your future blogs posts.

Schmidt and GAB Get it Right

Study out today shows demographic shift in '08 vote that vastly favors Dems positions - much heavier voting percentages from youth and monorities, and a movement of those with post-graduate degrees to the Dems. All favor Dems because of greater tolerance on issues like gay marriage. Schmidt makes the point that Rep principles should make the Party more tolerant (and attractive to these voters) and GAB makes the point that the media don't want to cover that because it is a threat to the Dems.

Lead the Bright to the Right

We know the right is right. The press do too so they won't write. Schmidt and GAB are right on this one on all counts. If the bright on the right figure this one out, they will get the majority to write "Rep" in '10.

Good points!

Thanks for the insight. I think it was important for Mr. Schmidt to espouse his views but, keep in mind, that there is a majority of people (including myself) that believe marriage is defined as a legal union between a man and a woman. Obviously, the liberal madia continues to attack the sanctity of marriage as was evident by the Miss USA pageant when the question of "marriage" was asked by a gay, gossip host to Miss California. When she answered the question as to what her opinion was in regards to homosexual marriage, she was applauded by the crowd but lost the crown to the liberal judges. I thought this country was suppose to allow freedom of speech yet the liberal forces continue to squelch all opinions that do not agree with their agenda.

$100 million budget cuts: woohoo!

Sooo - Americans will get a .0001% discount on a 30% tax increase (sorry, it was a secret, and anyway, we call some of it "fees") that finances programs that are pure pork and are generally political payoffs. So cancel the tea parties and move straight to gin - we'll need it.
