Family Heroes Part 2: A Woman Of Strength

Now, THAT...

...was a woman!!

My great aunt passed away in 2003, at the age of 104. She was amazing, just like Irene. Not only did she put herself through college in a time when women were discouraged from doing so, she raised four children, including my dad (my gran was working as a teacher). She worked on her farm, taught school to those who couldn't go into the city, and managed to still find the time to "bury" four husbands, the last one 20 years her junior!

Irene lives on, as does my great-aunt, in all the well-raised daughters....

FEMINISTS

Your great-grandmother and my grandmother would have gotten along just fine.

People of their generation were generally thrifty, energetic, firm and had a good foundation in faith.

They don't compare with some of the feminists of the '60's or later.

thanks again for sharing that story with us

Whew!

People had to be a whole lot tougher in the past. They also had value systems that gave them courage and self-respect. They were also judged by whether they lived up to those values. These decadent times have diluted all that, although sometimes one is surprised by someone showing a bit of moral courage. Feminism has robbed women of true strength and more importantly has robbed them of the love and happiness that comes from having a family.

Great Writing

My great-great grandparents left the comfort of Minneapolis to homestead in North Dakota. My great grandmother and grandmother were truly strong and free women, they were well educated and independant. They, like your great grandmother, were the kind of women that today's feminists only wish they were.

GREAT WRITING, You have a talent.

Skep41: thanks for visiting my blog. I hear you; nothing is more important than family.

Third Eye: thanks for visiting and ro your comments as well. I will stop by your blog here in the near future and check it out.

You two have a blessed upcoming weekend.

It's what has been lost

Feminists are actually doing a bad imitation of being men, and have lost what it means to really be a strong woman. The women in the past generations of our family held the family together during good times and bad, and commanded respect. They didn't always appear to be in charge but you can bet they were.

Feminists are easier to ignore.

Woman are the stronger sex in my opinion mentally!! Feminazi womens, as I like to refer them, should have been born men so they would be able to live with the consequences of the choices they made instead of reducing men the piles of manure..which is to say that IS what the feminazi mentality is!! Shitt!!
