I am a definite believer in evolution, but I have many minor differences in opinion on how and what.
I am also a devout believer in God as taught in the Bible. I know that Genesis is a well condensed and simplified story that gave man a basis on which he could build his faith.
I am ALSO a student of Mayan calendar teaching which, as far as I can see so far, explains many, many questions and ties together things like six days of creation and 6000 year old Earth with the modern theory of cosmology and evolution.
There are always going to be differences in the beliefs people choose as their own, and, usually there will be found common ground when ALL the facts are known.
But knowing all the facts available does not always result in proof of anything. Evolution IS a theory and any scientist will gladly confirm that. They will even admit that some of the present knowledge of evolution is still assumption and is very much subject to change.
A theory is not just an educated guess, it is an explanation of current knowledge based on experimentation and replication/probability results. Unless every aspect of a belief can be fully defined and proven as to its cause and effect, it is not absolute fact. And when experts agree that all is not known and assumptions are made, even they label it theory. You would do well to do the same.
