Can The Existence of God Be Proven?

I have always thought that the existence of God does not have to be proven. Christianity is a FAITH and my personal life is testimony enough for me. Atheists, however, will only accept scientific empirical evidence before they will believe anything (so they say) and yet they do not have empirical evidence of his non-existence. Their insistence that God does not exist is their burden to prove. The best that any atheist can say, if they are honest, is 'i don't know if he exists' (making them agnostic). Their belief that there is no God is only a BELIEF. Atheism is a FAITH. So when they say 'God does not exist' I say "prove it".
