Bruce is Right on Novak

The non-response to the USS Cole

On top of all his other foreign policy failures was the last straw for me (I was in the Navy from 96-02). We in the intel community had no doubt who did the deed, and Clinton did nothing, and played games trying to force a peace treaty on Israel to "cement his legacy". After that, I could never support Clinton again.

I supported the Bosnia intervention (though did not like the partition plan), and agreed that Haiti was such a mess it was destabilizing to Florida and needed to be dealt with. Unfortunately, in every area of foreign policy, Clinton took the path of least resistance. He never made the tough and sometimes unpopular decisions a true leader must sometimes make. This is what you get when you follow a leader to whom nothing is absolute except for narcissistic self promotion. This is what the radical tolerance of the left leads to. When you say: "Clinton had a terrible record in understanding and responding to terrorism." That is true, but understates the reality. The truth is, he didn't care. And his wife is the same way. Its all about them.

Good blog.

Wil Right on U.S. Cole

Wil, I don't disagree with anything you said about the Clinton presidency, especially his non-reaction to the Cole disaster. I'm sitting here and could almost blow a gasket about what a terrible President Clinton was, although he was "much loved" by a small majority of the Ameircan people. He was America's "lovable rogue." He did much damage to this country, and now he wants Hillary to carry on his (sorry) "legacy." I'm glad you visited. I'm going to put your comments in the blog proper this a.m. Come back often please!

Amen about Novak

He is the best Republican the Democrats could ever have. And he is all about Novak. His outing of Plame wasn't to help Bush, it was to draw attention to Novak. He cut Bush off at the knees and has taken every opportunity to undermine the Iraq war.

Remember, the guys like Buchanan and Novak also opposed the war in Afghanistan, not just Iraq. They stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the most extreme left-wing pacifists.

Novak, Buchanan NOT Conservative

The whole Plame thing is truly weird. Here's Libby about to go off to jail, and here's Novak whaling away against the conservatives, but then here's TH relentlessly publishing him. Buchanan? An embarrassment, another egocentric populist masquerading as a conservative. In America, conservatives are people Novak and Buchanan avoid at all costs.
