Do Republicans want to win?

Ron Paul The Protector ???

I admire the sentiments of the Ron Paul movement, but I think There is a healthy sense of short sightedness in the zealous nature of his proposed remedies. Like many of his forerunners in the libertarian party, other constitutionally based political movements, Ralph Nader and Ross perot (for whom I voted for and handed the election to Slick Willy), The movement is politically immature and desparately short on salesmanship to the masses. Political zeal, un-accompanied by wisdom, is like the hippie movement. all bark and no bite. The bite comes from reasoned and rational solutions to very serious national problems. We may need some radical solutions to our constitutional crisis'. But you don't want to be like the doctor that finds cancer and removes all the organs. Duncan Hunter is the only candidate who has the right temperment to transition from an unconstitutional government to one that the founders would recognize....And he is ignored by media outlets way more than your candidate. That being said, once the primary is over I will support the republican nominee...even if it's Ron paul. My advice to all 3rd party movements is...Don't wait till an election year to make all this noise, develope your base strategically over years and appeal to the masses.

The protector?

Michael, I'm not sure I understand the meaning of your heading, but I applaud your loyalty to the Republican party. However, there are many new voters this year who are voting only because Ron Paul is in this race, and there are many older voters, such as myself who are tired of not having any choice in election after election. I too voted for Perot, but if the Republicans had been more honest("Read my lips, no new taxes)maybe there wouldn't have been eight years of Bill Clinton and we wouldn't be looking at a posible president Hillary.

I support Ron Paul an d have been a fan of his since the eighties. I am not a newcomer to his brigade. What I wrote was my true feeling that the Republicans cannot win in 2008 unless Paul is the candidate. This could be Ross Perot all over again, or we could choose to have a Republican victory.
