George S. Patton on the War on Terror

I don't get it.

I appreciate your comments. It would seem General Patton would agree more with my critique though. If indeed Cal was just showing us a simpler time, it certainly was one sided. Blinded by Might-Why the Religious Right Can't Save America is one of Cal's books which seems to have been a forerunner of his 7-3-2007 column (they have gotten us Alito and Roberts). So we are left with social conservatives and or Republicans needn't voting for social issues because it causes distress and arguments in America. Cal should read William Safire's 'Scandlemonger' if he really believes there was a 'simpler time'. As for music on the radio, there's still plenty of stations out there, if you care to listen to what they're playing. Thank goodness talk radio is out there. I certainly wouldn't want to be getting most of my news from the NYTimes or Reuters. You mentioned religion and patriotism are not political tools. Call them a tool, a belief, or a rallying point, but that's exactly what they are. When one side gets imposes their vaules by electing a President who appoints activist judges to do the bidding that American voters reject, Cal's remedy is to start soup kitchens for single moms. The Moral Majority's remedy was to educate voters, "If this person is elected, this is what will happen." You even make the point that liberal ideas do not work, so what do we do about it? I guess only vote on who will pave your street, not who supports and votes to continue partial birth abortion, same sex marriage, etc. Leave that for the left to vote on. And if you want to get a load of 'being responsible for their words', conservatives can't hold a candle to libs (check out the Daily Kos). Again I ask, why the one sided attack? I don't get it.

Patton

I think he would tell everyone back here exactly where they needed to go right now. If they thought they could do the job better then get their butt's over there and do it. Other than that butt out.

I can not imagine him calling back and waiting an hour or so for someone to tell him he could or couldn't shoot.

Where are these General's when we need them. I know they are gone. But we could use some of them now.
