I've heard this angry and tired view of the party before from others and I actually agree. I'm a McCain loving liberal Republican but I want like a government that is smaller.

Besides the socail isssues (I'm pro-choice, pro-gay marriage) the real issues that are getting so many conservatives angry is the size of the federal budget. When you add up entitlement spending (S.S. & Medicare), the Defense Dept. budget and our debt obligation it makes up 65% of our budget. When Republicans refuse to even propose cuts to any of these programs (minus debt obligation/interest payments) you can not have smaller government because whatever you cut (and Republicans cut nothing in 8 years of power) wil be eaten up by entitlement and defense spending. Are the other areas to cut absolutely but Republicans are still not serious about reducing the size of the federal government.
