I love my church and provide a link to it on my blog. My brother and sisters and I decided we wanted to go to church that fit our theological views so we went to one that supports women in the ministry (which all Christians should support), a church that is pro-choice (but not pro-abortion, which no one is) and one that is pro-gay rights including the right to marry since we both have gay friends and family.
You are a selective literal Christian which make up a very big part our country, who truly believe that every word written in the Bible is ordined by God (no one has yet to explain that whole stoning children thing away yet). That's fine and it is your right to believe as you want.
I will say this though it seems like no pastor will touch the topic of gluttony, which is a series problem including for way too many Baptists. Best of luck to you.

The common phrase "Jesus Is The Answer" is often rejected because to the worldly and sophisticated mind this seems to be to vague or impractical.
In truth, the simplicity is a description of how practical, sufficient, efficient, all powerful, all wise, benevolent, merciful, gracious, complete, faithful, perfect, and transcendent the love and ability of Jesus Christ is to deliver anyone or any nation from death and destruction to peace, life and restoration.
The element required by the Lord to receive His salvation and freely dispensed redemption is that the recipient truly repent of sin, cry out for mercy, and aknowledge his utter hopelessness without His Lord and God. This results in the heart change that God alone can perform in a human being. A heart of stone becomes a heart tender to God and His righteousness. A love for the Lord and His Word is birthed.
Get on your knees America and out of a sincere heart ask God to forgive us of our sins and deliver us from our enemies through Christ.
"Jesus Is The Answer".
P.S. Well done, Pastor Patriot, it's encouraging to know you're out there. Me and mine and my church, more and more each day, are crying out to God to be conformed to the image of Christ. This is the will of God through the sanctifying work of the Holy Ghost. S.D.G.

Sir, you are the very person that I wrote about in the article. You have chosen to change God's word to suit your own choices. God says one thing and you choose to reject it and have it your way. You cannot do this! You must decide which God/god you will serve. The God of the Bible or the god of your own making. I hear people say, "My god would not do this or that," while contradicting the very word of God. You see, they have rejected the true God for a man made god as the pagans throughout the Bible did. Israel did the same thing often and faced horrific consequences for their choices. You sound like the person who seeks out a preacher who will 'tickle your ears' by agreeing with you rather than standing firm of God's word. I pray for you and others like you as you have been deceived. How can you be pro-chooice and against abortion? You are confused! Pro-choice is that you are in favor of abortion. Pro-life means that babies should not be murdered in the womb. How can you agree that gays should be pastors when the Bible is clear about this being an abomination with God. I would love to communicate more with you.

Thank you for your encouragement. I am so truobled by the trend in the Christian church today. I was greatly disappointed in Rick Warren's retraction on Prop 8 in California.
His influence has led far too many pastors to soften up thier preaching when it should be the opposite today.
I pray for him daily that he will experience a personal revival and be the change agent to bring spiritual awakening as I know he can be.

Christopher,
"we wanted to go to a church that fit our theological views"
"it is your right to believe as you want"
These beliefs are the reason humanism is the religion of America. You don't see this? Your comment drips of self love, not the love for Christ and His Word.
Then you defend your hatred for the Gospel by finding fault with O.T. law (read Rom. 8.1-4, and Gal. 3.10-27, and Rom. 6.1-23) and flawed Christians.
Jesus Christ never uttered these words," I have come to take a poll and understand how the majority of people would like God to behave and sanction what it is you want to do".
By the way, Christians will never be perfect in this life, but we are admonished to try to live a Holy life with everything we have. A Christian is described by the progress they are making by the working of the Holy Ghost conforming them to the image of Christ.
