Ahmadinejad is one to be watched closely with no level of trust whatsoever from the US vantage point.

Appeasement policies toward him(Iran) are just another milestone met in his anti-American/anti-Christian agenda.

Iran's mullahcracy must deflect its failures outward, in order to maintain power. If there is a identified "other" on which to project all the problems and failures of Iran, then the mullahs need not address the actual problems of the country.
