Yup.
I read about that this morning, and had to laugh. First AlBore, now Obambi. You think the Nobel committee has an agenda?
Naaaahhh..... Can't be.
What buffoons.
Well, the good news for Bat Ears: there's a cash award, a quarter mil or so.
I wonder if, as sitting President, he can legally accept that?

It's a million now!
I guess he could keep the cash, so long as he declares it...and you know he wants to keep it!
What's really funny is that Obama claims that winning the award made him feel humble! AS IF!!! This guy wouldn't know humble if it thumped his ears and made him fly away!

International Politics
If it is international it is political.
Always has been. always will be.
Nobel peace prize, Olympics. Doesn't matter. If it is played out on the world stage it will be politicized.

Hahahaha.... HUMBLE?????
The guy's the very definition of arrogant and pompous!
I wonder if he even knows what the word "humble" means?
I'm not sure about accepting a cash award or "honorarium". He may not be able to accept that legally.
Well, I just checked the Constitution, and I don't see any specific prohibition, so I guess he gets to keep it.
I wonder if he'll follow the examples of many of his "advisors" and try to cheat on his taxes?

buck, you're right...if it's international it's political! This isn't about promoting peace, but about promoting the right political positions.
Brian, everyone knows that he got the cash so if he keeps it he can't duck the taxes. Unless he manages to get it clasified as a one time gift, then he can avoid any taxes on it. But before it's done, he'll be giving it to charity so others can name him philanthropist of the decade!

Well, the Euros are just rewarding
you Yanks for good behaviour, i.e. electing a socialist who will acknowledge their supremacy through the various world bodies he will kow-tow to. You just got a pat on the head from the Swedes, don't you feel all warm and squishy inside?
You see, it's just liberals being liberals, like giving Rather a prize for false reporting. The only accomplishment that matters is making the liberals awarding the prizes feel good about themselves. So Obama makes the Euros feel good about themselves, and gets an award.
The part that would tick me off were I a Yank (well, it ticks me off a bit nevertheless), is that there is very little that make Europeans (or most Canadians for that matter) feel better than themselves than being able to feel morally or otherwise superior to Americans. In other words, the U.S. President just got an international award because of the bad light he puts the U.S. in. Pretty shameful, or at least it would be if shame were an emotion people felt anymore.

You sum it up nicely when you hot the Euros for doing this stuff to feel morally superior to us here in the States. I have never understood why the Euroopeans don't just mind their own business and stay the hell out of ours, but what can you do? What's really funny is that the Europeans have no room to feel superior to us, because the last time I checked we didn't have any Cabinet members caught up in a sex tourism scandal and we weren't still trying to hold onto anything resembling an African colony!

Maybe the Norwegians should create an asterisk kissing prize, because Obama would be perfectly qualified for that one! He is the Grand Imperial President...of the World and this award just confirms it!

Trying to get back into the swing of things here after some R&R and a MAJOR computer malfunction. The N.P.P. is nothing more than an Oscar for the liberal political set. Look at the company he is now in. Liars such as Gore, murderers such as Arafat, total incompetents such as Carter. NO THANKS.

The thing is
There were so many people out there who deserved the award, and who would have put the prize money to good use that it is doubly shameful for Obama to have won the award. But as has been stated before, this is all about politics...leftist politics...and nothing more; if you have the right politics you too can be a Nobel Laureate someday!
