Obama's Youth Brigade

In the Elder Care facility in which i live, we have two residents who grew up in Germany during the pre-Hitler reign. Each has related how she can remember being "solicited" for youth programs that were state sponsored, They were told to be "unselfish" and put their personal goals and ambitions aside, to work for the good of the "comunity". It all sounded so grand and noble until they discovered that they were put at odds with their parents, their friends and their religious beliefs; they were told what courses of study to pusue. One lady was taken to Israel by her father; the other lived to see herslf isloated from family and friends. Recalling these years, both women admit to being very concerned at the idea of "youth brigades" One intrepid 91 year old said flatly. "We didn't see what was coming until it was too late. I may- be old, but I'm not stupid! This, (Obama's Youth Brigade) is the same thing; hope the American kids don't believe them.
