The Big Picture

Our benefit

I've read different speculation on why Obama picked Biden over Clinton. Obama and Clinton would have made an unstoppable team regardless of who was on the Republican ticket. I personally speculate that Obama is threatened by Clinton or else there is an underlying story we don't know about. Anyway, it is to our benefit.

There has however, given the recent comments by Biden about how Clinton is more qualified than him, specualtion that Biden may jump ship to allow Clinton in. Given the specualtion that is out there on this, coupled with Obama's failure to deny it, I think it to be a distinct possibility. This concerns me because, contrary to popular belief, I don't believe that Obama will suffer for switching gears. I think Obama and Clinton are a dream team for the democrats. And with just under two months left, the switch on the ticket would be ancient history come November if they were to make the switch now. I hope Biden stays put.

Obama Exposed Hill Can't Help

I'll reply to the post first and the comment second. I agree that in modern political history, a McCain victory would be one of the biggest upsets ever, and the direct result of some of the best political strategy ever. People are reading too much into the Clinton thing, McCain is ahead because he destroyed Obama's themes and did so systematically. Obama's campaign was built on celebrity and change, McCain has trumped him on both with his ads and with Palin. He has exposed Obama for the inexperienced liberal that he is, with views soundly rejected time and time again by the voters.

Regarding the comment, putting Clinton on the ticket at this point would backfire. McCain has already staked his claim to those voters and putting Hillary on now would be very disingenuous, and I doubt she'd do it. Obama needs to strike back on the issues, it doesn't look like he'll do that.
