Obama's Townhall: I can tell how suited you are for the job in the first five minutes.

Profound arrogance
What kind of man would lead off with a commentary of Obama's Town Hall with the byline "I can tell how suited you are for a job in the first five minutes"? All that notwithstanding, he offers nothing of substance but unfounded criticism like Obama's too slick and experienced as a public speaker. Then he whines that, in a Conservative state like Montana, that there were too few catcalls, and boos like in a REAL town hall meeting. lol So, where's the Conservative Plan to fix our broken health care system? What has Bush done to address the problems in his 8 years?

Anyone who's ever had to apply for and win a REAL job knows that the employer has to be convinced that you are the person for the job. The "sell" is done with a tailored resume, a professional appearance, well-thought out and anticipated questions for the interview and respect for the interviwer. Obama has none of these things.
My criticism is unfounded? Hardly. Obama's modus operandi is ridicule. It's his only tool. Why address the public's basic mistrust of government or the failure of the stimulus bills to stimulate anything but the government? Everyone equipped with a modicum of critical thought KNOWS that his townhall was staged from top to bottom. It is more than a matter of having no opposition present; it has a lot to do with filling a townhall with financial supporters and cronies.

Pt 2
MANY alternate proposals have been put forward by Republicans, such as "tort reform", the option for people to "purchase health insurance across state lines" (as people can do with auto insurance), "health savings accounts", etc. Do any of these sound the least bit familiar?
These ideas should be part of the national discussion on health care reform, but they aren't because Democrats don't WANT input. They don't WANT GOP involvement. The DNC will stubbornly keep refusing to listen to different ideas and that way they can say "the GOP is the party of 'no'" It's so much easier to just ignore others and push for your own way rather than actually compromise on something as important as health care reform!
Chris, the profound arrogance belongs to Barack Obama for thinking he can bully a majority of the American people like an ordinary high-pressure salesman. It also belongs to you for your weak talking-points critique which you probably think passes for something smart. I have news for you: No one is listening to your side anymore. You've lost the argument by resorting to coarse name-calling, ridicule of Americans and strong-arm tactics. I advise passing on then message to those who decide policy before your party completely self-destructs.

Here is the URL to a health care reform proposal put forward by the Suffolk County 9-12 Project. The content in full is posted 8/16/09. I could support this kind of reform, and I bet 75% of Americans would too. Democrats can take all credit for it; I don't care. (It'd be the only thing they'd ever do even remotely close to being right!)
This is NOT the only alternative proposal out there. There are many. Democrats just refuse to hear alternative plans.

You are the arrogant one. It's obvious you are enamored with Obama, which, essentially, disqualifies you from participating in any real, truthful debate on this subject.

A well written, proper essay on the subject. I have a small list of reforms in my most recent post that would be far more efficient than this monstrous plan HR3200.
I like your style, sir.

Excellent! I will happily check out YOUR reform suggestions! I'm sure they are all more sensible than say, destroying the health care plans that 270 million Americans are satisfied or happy with for the sake of covering 10 million un-insurable Americans!
