Has the "bear" awaken from hibernation?

Yes, it would appear so. Russia is back, and not as the cuddly,democratic friend we thought we had. The new Russian bear looks an awful lot like the bad, old Russian bear we remember, but with a weird Mafia kind of feel.

I do believe it has. When I was at NTTC Corry in 91ish we trained for the Soviet threat and that never changed. When I went back to train Electronic Warfare we were still training for the Soviet threat, evidently for good reason. Not only are they waking up but the are selling again, high end equipment too by the looks of it. T-90’s, S-300’s, Mig-29’s? Yeesh…

The russian attitude vis-a-vis arms sales to Algeria, and then to Morocco reminds me of Germany selling missile technoogy to Nasser. When Israel protested, i heard the Germans responded that Israel was entitled to no protest against sovereign German commercial policies, however if they were worried about Egyptian missiles, they would be glad to sell Israel the technology to build an ABM capable of destroying the Egyptian missiles.
As an aside, the russian entry into arms sales has made all this clatter about Iran/NoKor nukes moot. Anyone with a couple million bucks can have nuke. Delivery and repercussions of using one are all that is keeping the nuclear cat in the bag.

I heard on the news last night that Russia is also going to sell and deliver spent Uranium to Iran to assist in their nuclear endeavors. Not a good sign at all!

and I think Russia is aligning itself with China and Iran for tactical/power purposes. This is not good for us.

I hope the Bear does wake up and wakes up the Lion (USA) with it. Unfortunately, it is more likely that the mobsters in Russia are in control and not the old Communists. There used to be a day when terrorists were scared of the KGB.

When Russia cracks down on muslims the United States chastizes the schidt out of them. Then we wonder why Russians go their own way?

We have alienated almost every country except the other English speaking countries because if they don't march route-step with us on all human rights issues we try to bully them into our way of thinking. Maybe our way is not the only way.

Case in point...who were we trying to save in Kosovo? Who is trying to kill/convert us right now?

If my ignorance is showing let me know. It does that from time to time but I was under the impression we went there to keep muslims from being slaughtered. By that mean ol Milosovic....or something like that.

What have we done (besides import a bunch of Russian Mafia types) to help Russia since The Wall came down?
Russia, like us, is battling jihadist muslims and all we have done is harp on how Russia is mistreating them.
We need a new dialogue in this world to deal with potential allies against the muslim encroachment and we need to get off our high-horse about human rights in other countries.
I ain't talking about the frogs or any EU's that have already surrendered to the muslims. Russia and Israel may be the only non English speaking countries that would stand against the onslaught of the Army of Islam that is to come.
Except China.
Hmmmmm. Wonder how China would handle a bunch of ragheads protesting cartoons or plays that "Offended" them or mohammed??????
