Mustang, I absolutely agree. When I see those grillings, those humiliating questions, the tone of voice of those like Ted Kennedy, etc., so belittling, etc., I have to think how well it plays in Iran and Iraq and whatever hole bin Laden's hiding in. Oh, they must adore it.
For transparency sake, we are exposing things which should never be exposed; we are divulging classified material (as the NYTimes has done frequently), we are showing ourselves to have no respect for our country and the people protecting us.
I have never thought we should have journalist embeds, either. You can't fight a war against a vicious enemy while worrying if CNN is going to catch you on video!
Since when did America fight a war with gloves on? Since when did we discuss really important matters like affording a war in public!?
Answer: only since technology has allowed communication to even little holes in the ground with cable in Pakistan.
Is there NO way to stop this?
I wish they'd talk in private.
