Well.....here we are....

There's still sawdust on the floor, and the beer is still free, but there are only seven guys in the whole world who even know about the place.

If that was a steakhouse, you'd be there every week.....until they went out of business.....

The beer and chips are still free....but now the bartender's packin' so watch yourselves....

AAaaaawwwwwwwww..Safety !

I'm a lifelong Wyatt Earp admirer, so the name of this nefarious meeting place is perfect.

For any who've not had the pleasure of reading it, Allen Barra's wonderful book, "Inventing Wyatt Earp: His Life & Many Legends", 1998, is simply great.

Neo....

I'm thinking of leaving the original Cheers open....which would give this new place an even better cover. We aren't sure how much damage has been done yet, but we've known for a while that libs pop in for a looksee every now and again..... I left a love note for the biggest offender to see, as you already know..... We can expect the occasional intrusion, but they'll probably leave us alone for the most part.

We can keep the ladies happy (especially the threadhogs among them), and just keep this place for the men to take our brandy and cigars..... Then we can still get together with clarity, and hopefully marystella....

Just 7 guys..... What do you think?

Seehawk, K.G. and MaryS...

are all Class A People.

K.G. is regular and great. I really like and respect that San Diego County girl.

And, I think leaving Paddy's makes sense. Funny, The Blovie knew of Cheers and never leaked it to the worms. I'll give him a hat tip for that.

Ohhh, Paddy, you wouldn't like Neo after a splash of brandy. :-)

Paddy

I like the idea of a guy place. Now, we can scratch ourselves, and pass gas loudly. I'm good at that :-).

I went through a colonoscopy, this morning. Robyn, my nurse, suggested the following link. Okay, so I had google it: http://www.miamiherald.com/283/v-print/story/427603.html.

Dave Barry, but what can you do? It is heartfelt, whcih surprised me. I am recovering in an undisclosed location (Flagstaff.) I'm not supposed to drink or drive until tomorrow. So I'm watching TV and surfing. Have a good evening.

Keith...

Glad you are getting through ok. I am next, I'm afraid....

We'll have our own little blog within a blog for a while and see where it goes....

Cowboy.....

We need a medical update from you, man.....

Well, well, so this is the new clubhouse

Could be fun alright. Mind if I put my feet up and make myself to home?

Don't mind at all if you guys smoke your cigars and drink your brandy in heah, as long as you keep the ashes off the furniture. I don't indulge in either (on account of my Mormon affiliation) but I'll be a designated drive any time I'm called upon. I hope none of y'all hold that against me in any way. I'll not push it onto any of you at all unless you have questions for me.

Maine.....

Oh....you're a Mormon? Sorry, you can't come....

Juuuuusttt kiddiiiing!!

Actually, Neo and I are both reformed falldown drunks, so we don't indulge either. I like to drink an O'Doul's now and then though.....

This place has been very quiet. That's probably a good thing. It seems things have blown over at Paddy's, so maybe we won't need it....but it will be good to have if we ever do.....

Gentlemen

Morning, good to see you all here. Health wise I'm doing much better ,thanks for asking Paddy,my incision is healing well, my calf that they tried to shove a catheter through is still very tender.Doc sez the blood clot came from the artery below my heart and headed south,I have most of my circulation back in my lower leg but I'm still pretty weak.Doc wants me to hand the operation of this place to my kids, I know it is a good idea but hard to think of me being put out to pasture in some ways. My wife is the real problem, she has that scared look in her eyes all the time, that she is going to lose me,so i'm trying to show her that i'm ok.

BSC...

Glad to hear you're feeling better... It must be difficult to be told you need to let go of the reins, but I wouldn't think of it as being put out to pasture. It's more a graduation to the life of leisure you've worked long and hard for. I wouldn't mind being a little closer to that day myself.... Make it a gradual process and learn to enjoy your newfound freedom.....

This is about the time I would normally be smoking a cigar. Once lousy cigar a week, and they took that away from me... Oh well.... I don't need them...I just like them. Maybe I can get this woman to declare me disabled and I can move to a ranch somewhere.... :-)

Paddy

We can hang in the same pasture then. I know slowing down some will be a good thing, and my kids do a great job running the place, just have to get used to the idea that I can't be Hoss anymore, but I refuse to be Ben, LoL

Well....

What the hell.....be Hop Sing! :-)

"More beeeeaaans cookie....!"

Hey Guys, The Sensitive Lexus Neo Check-

ing at the Corral. Clarity sent me an e-mail heads'up that things were churning to butter at the "Reparations.." thread after I plopped a late morning stinker on'um. :-)

The multi-cloned Lefturd(MCL), Axeman, is now convinced that I'm also Clarity, Cabal(who lives in Zurich) and arch! Poor guys, I probably owe them an amends!

And *MCL is, on that thread, blasting "Paddy's Pad" to all Leftoids. This is a good place, Landlord... :-)

MaineCon...7-29-1987 Was My Last One..

and the beginning of an incredible, technicolor REAL LIFE. Met the fetching Missus Neo(Sober since 9-83)in a meeting in Orlando when I was here the first time, doing a steaming pile of art for Universal, "Swamp Thing".

Wonderful being above ground.

Another Saturday night and I ain't...

got nobody.

Actually, not true. The Mrs. and I have been working finishing a big game room in the basement - moving the TV down today so I'll have my new big screen HD LCD by next week-end. Just what I need now that the kids are grwon and gone - more room in this place.

I've been a bit bored today, though, so I've resorted to poking fwankie and axewipe through the bars of their cages. Hey, it's cheap entertainment.

Big Sky, you'll learn to enjoy kicking back and letting others do the heavy lifting. Be lieve me, I've bucked enough bales out there to know how physically demanding that work is. Just take God you've still got some years ahead to enjoy life...and there's not a more beautiful place to enjoy it than your neck of the woods.

Well, almost time for the Sox to start. Beckett tonight - it should be good.

MaineCon

Thanks my friend, yes it is hard work as my Mom used to say, but it keeps me out of trouble. By the way you said you were originally from this area, where about was that?

Neo..

We have one rule in the new place. What is it?

OOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooopppsssie !

I..uuummmmm...mentioned..err...sobriety..?

Sorry, finger wag duly noted.

Dads of the Cabal...HAPPY FATHERS DAY !!

Heat index in Orlando today will be--pause--110. But, hey, at least it's torrentially HUMID.

Missus Neo, the Sicilian Minx, is taking me to a 4:00pm dinner at our favorite little Eye-Talian Bistro in our Winter Park 'hood. Yow'zzzzaaaaaa!!

Presume Paddy saw the RedSox victory(Beckett)last night. The ESPN Game of the Week tonight is Angels-Dodgers...THANK YOU, God!!
The Weaver Bros. pitched against each other yesterday, with their proud parents in attendance. 2-Great Skippers, Joe & Mike, and class teams. FUN!

Big Sky

I grew up in the uppse Snake River Valley of Idaho. God's country.

Hope you guys all have a wonderful Father's Day. There's nothing more precious to me than family.

I apparently got the trolls all worked into a froth yesterday on the reparations thread. Not sure if I feel good about that or not. I should probably spend more time here in the corral than on the open plain.

MC

The one rule for which I gave Neo a nudge is that I would prefer we not discuss the main blog in here.... Please try to stick to this....

That said, the Snake River area of Idaho is exactly where I want to live out my life....beginning as soon as possible. A 40-50acre ranch in that neck of the woods (hopefully with river access) is all I want in life at this point.

Feel free to discuss this as much as possible, as I will consider this part of my continuing education.....

Happy Father's Day all.....

Happy Fathers Day

To everyone, I hope nobody got a tie except those that wanted one. I hope the BBQ duties are not too strenuous, I hope we all either get to see our kids and enjoy them or at least get to talk with them.

Paddy,Neo,MaineCon

Yes the snake river is one of my favorites, I used to fish in Island Park Idaho alot, but it is great having river front property on the Gallatin River also. Standing on my deck outside our bedroom having my coffee and looking into the river, listening to it roar by is priceless. Neo, I knew you were a smart guy marrying a good Sicilian girl, as my Sicilian Grandpa used to say to me there are two kinds of people in the world Sicilians and those that wish they were. Well again I hope you all have a great day I'll check in later to respond to you that are here.

Big Sky, Paddy

Some of the best fishing in the world are in that part of the country. I grew up fishing the Henry's Fork in Island Park, the Madison above that, Fall River, the Teton, etc. In fact, my brother ownes a fly shop in Last Chance and also one on the South Fork.

Probably the best day of fishing I ever had was a day on the Lewis in The Park. We caught a huge green drake hatch and the browns were going crazy. Multiple 18"+ - nearly every cast - and I was back casting almost directly over top of a cow elk and her calf, grazing on the river's edge - what a day!

The Gallatin is also beautiful.

Paddy, my apologies for bringing up the main blog here. That's a good rule. I'll gladly adhere.

MaineCon

I was back casting almost directly over top of a cow elk and her calf, grazing on the river's edge - what a day!
Wow and some people will never see a site like that in a lifetime. I agree, there is no better place then where I am. There are many beautiful spots in this country that i say are beautiful, but I have never been anywhere that I would trade for home.

Hop Sing

Paddy that works for me but I don't have a pony tail, and I can't walk like him it makes my thighs chafe.

The Most Satisfying Time I Spent In

Idaho in the mid-70s, researching a project on the famous 1907 trial of Big Bill Haywood and the events leading up to it: Gov.Frank Steunenberg's assassination at the gate to his home in Caldwell, the hard rock miners, the kidnapping of the Union Leaders from Colorado to Boise and the labor wars. Immersed myself in it and had a blast at all the scenes of events in Colorado and Idaho and the records at the Boise HQ of the papers, transcripts, etc. Clarence Darrow defended Haywood, got him off and the actual assassin, Harry Orchard, died in the Idaho State Pen in the early 1950s.

I'd like to spend some time in the Stanley Basin and Sawtooth Range.

Cowpoke...I Had the Pleasure of Knowing

Victor Sen Yung, the delightful Chinese American guy who played Hop Sing. Died in a strange accident in his home in L.A. around '80. But, a great guy..warm, funny and loved people.

Neo

I did hear he was a class act from several sources. It is nice to see celebs who are still down to earth even with their noteriety. I spent a day fishing with Tom Selleck, actually a friend of mine is Tom's cousin that lives in Wyoming, my friend Jeramiah looks like Tom's twin actually, but Tom is very natural and easy going.

Yes, He Is...

I was at Universal during much of his 'Magnum' time. He was always very well spoken of by their staff.

Cute Story: Tom was doing a TV Pilot a few years ago and on location in our little L.A. suburb of Montrose. My Baseball Nutcase wife got wind of it and said,"Oh my Gawd...'Mister Baseball'!" She went stalking and finally cornered him between set-ups for his signiture on a baseball. He didn't stand a chance. They ended up having a lively Big League discussion until the director was ready for him. Danged Lil'Minx...I call it 'the cuteness and adorability factor.' :-)

Neo

I call it the Sicilian factor, we are all so cute.Or people do what we want so they don't have to share their bed with a horses head.

Yep, Cowpoke, This Anglo-Saxon-Celt

White-Guy, in a mixed marriage, has a very simple life. I do NOT wish to sleep with my eyes open! Baa-Daa-Bing. Like Dat.

Neo

Mrs. Big Sky is sweet Irish lass, that I would never cross either, I do know which is the stronger sex, I never want to fight that battle. I can lift more than she can but I know who is stronger.

Yep...Being A'Scareeeed of a 95-lb

4'11" Super=Petite who moves with the ease and speed of a mosquito...is a little embarrassing, but, Hell, I'm over it.
