Austin Hills latest column: what you said was simply profound...PLEASE go over and post at the latest Peter Wirs column!

forgot to add

I will try to get back to the blog article (just read it briefly) later....once I am finished reading the posts on Hill's column. Have a great day!

Thanks "to be right"

Thanks for the encouraging words. I'll check out Peter Wirs column shortly. There's a LOT of discussion in regard to Mike Adams' atheism article. There are some really profound comments there . . . and some, well, not so profound. Have a good evening!

To "to be right"

I tried all evening to write you a comment here and also on Wir's column but darn TH wouldn't "let me!" Kept getting an endless loop of "sign in to comment;" did that; back to this page or Wir's page; same message "sign in ..." argh! I'm convinced it was a left-wing conspiracy to keep me from posting. C'est la crappie vie!

Hey, you were the first one mentioned in the column. I'm with you--the GOP lost my vote of confidence, support, contributions a few years ago when the news reported the Repubs spending as much if not more than Dems, as addicted to pork as Dems (one of my pet peeves), etc. Then they really lost me with this charade of a primary "election" process. Not much difference between the Repub elites and the way Hugo Chavez handles politics.

I'm hoping and praying for a new third party to come out of all this (for 2012)--an authentic conservative party in which all wings or factions of conservatism have equal weight, voice, attention with conservative "values" (moral conviction) as the foundational stone--not more importance or emphasis, just one that would never be ripped from the "granite structure." (Rather than a "platform" with "planks" of wood that quickly decay or are easily torn out.)

johnfw, I got back to

Wir's column late tonight and saw your post, so finally TH "let" you sign in....just for the record I was having trouble with that earlier in the evening too. I'm glad you posted on Wir's column, since it looks like he may pay attention to what posters say (or perhaps emails he receives..I do both!) Nice talking to you. I will look forward to checking in on your blog here and there (I don't always have the extra time for the blogs and TH columns both.)

I find it so frustrating when supposed conservatives, like Wirs, insist that voting for McCain is the right thing to do. If I wanted a Democrat I would vote for one! In Colorado one of our Republican Representatives just got a law passed (in the House anyway) which will put the GOP primary on some kind of rotating regional system. I would like to find out more about that, although to be honest, I think EVERY primary should be held on the same day...then there would not be any more of this game playing of whose winning what when (including those played by crossover voters.)

"to be right" - yes, reform primaries

The audacity and arrogance of anyone telling voters (or non-voters) what they MUST do using infantile tactics like biased arguments, guilt trips, and that thoroughly ridiculous phrase "the lesser of two evils" has become really tiresome.

I agree that the primary process is definitely part of the problem. My no doubt wishful thinking for a new Conservative American Party includes a primary process that includes what you suggest. Perhaps we should write it together! Five regions, 10 states each, candidates campaign in a region a month including two regionally or nationally televised events, the first a "present your case" format where each has ample time to do just that (no debate, no questions) and the second a debate format, all voting would be held on one day after all five regions have been introduced to the candidates.

PS to "to be right"

Read your fine comments after the Chuck Norris article. Did you stick around long enough to see that the gay activists came out in droves to bash Christians? Just wish they could be made to understand that their rants only serve to harm their cause (inflame sentiments) just as J. Wright's rants incite rather than assuage racial tensions. I fully believe that the vast majority of that whopping 3% gay population wishes the activists, bashers, and whiners would just shut up and stop rocking the boat.

johnfw

New post over at the "Blogatorium." You asked me to let you know when it was "up."

Now that I'm here, I'm going to have to look around. I like what I see so far. I'll check it out.

Hey, can you answer a question for me. I just started my blog, and I can't figure how to A) add blogs to my "blogroll" or B) edit my biography (which has some typos--me brain always runs faster than me poor little fingers can go!).

I'd be grateful for any help with those two items.

Thanks!
