I agree with all your "druthers" for 2008. The only improvement I would favor would be to substitute a flat tax in exchange for the Bush tax cuts made permanent.

As a matter of expediency, maintaining the Bush tax cuts will be a lot easier than employing a Flat Tax, although I would love to see that or the Fair Tax instead of our current system.
