The weatherman, the boogieman and the evilone

The worries right now of the world community is that the US will sit this one out. Apparently that is what the Obama administration has said, at least so far. The charges out of Europe now are "How can we tackle this problem without the US, when they use 20% (down from 25% under President Bush) of the world's resources while constituting only 5% of the world's population and create 20% of the world's greenhouse gases?" Well, I guess we could ask the same thing of China and India, who far outstrip us in those same categories and who have absolutely no intentions of changing or stopping. They may or may not attend; it doesn't matter because they won't change anything they do. And neither should we.

Caution: US involvement will abruptly change if President Obama decides to attend himself. He just can't let a chance to hear himself talk on a world stage go by!
