McCains Statement on Georgia

Klein Makes Me Want to Puke

I don't know if I should praise you or curse you Yubaduck for for posting this contrast between McCain and Joe Klein. The best that can be said is that Klein obviously doesn't get the seriousness of what's going on.

Yubaduck

"We should use all the diplomatic leverage we have (not all that much, truthfully) to end this invasion, and--as Richard Holbrooke and Ronald Asmus argue in this more reasonable take--help Georgia to recover when it's over."

This is the kind of moral ambiguity that will guide Obama's administration in policy both foreign and domestic. Good work Yubaduck

Exactly

Obama may not say the words, but he agrees heart and soul that deep down, America is just as bad and has no authority to tell Russia anything. This view of America as no better than its adversaries leads to consensus policies...we can't do or say anything without approval of the majority of the world, and eventually leads to a loss of sovereignty. Thanks to both of you for the comments

Neo-comms

These guys don't miss a beat, appeasement to order, slander conservatism on demand, and demonize those who would protect us. Yes, let's have that talk about patriotism and treason.

Who says communism

is dead? Who says there are no more 'Hitlers?'

Let's have the UN talk to them?...like the League of Nations back in WWI? That will be a work of NOTHING!!

Where do these ideas come from? Surely they speak and write without thinking!

2nd half of my vacation finally posted and less story. ;)

McCain forgets

that if we were interested in freedom we would not insist on a permanent presence in Iraq and on our oil companies getting no-bid contracts.

Both Russia and the US invaded countries with impunity. Also, the US went back on its word not to move NATO east and the US is trying to get missile interceptors in eastern european countries which can be used as a first strike weapon.

Certainly what Russia did in Georgia is immoral and criminal but it has a context.

We must have

those who are closer to being conservative in power in regards to foreign relations, as opposed to liberals, who are in total la-la land!!!

Yubaduck

Georgia has been around for a long time-there is history as well as courage. I know the Ukrane is watching very well.
